1. The works of the flesh versus the fruit of the Spirit

Jesus personally tells us that when we are born again, people will know us by our fruits, saying: You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruits, nor can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you shall know them. Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness or iniquity (Matthew 7:16-23)!

Sometimes in church, people think because they come every Sunday to church, that they are born again. When a person is born again, his or her heart is genuinely transformed: the stony heart he or she had, is replaced with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26, 2Corinthians 3:3). When a born again Christian sins he feels so bad; because the Holy Spirit of His Father God, who dwells in him or her, is grieved, and convicts him or her of sin. But when someone, who professes to be born again, is enjoying sin, that person does not have the Spirit of the Lord (John 16:8, Ephesians 4:30). Even baby born again Christians, though they do not know all the scriptures yet; as soon as they sin they feel so bad, when you are born again, you want to get rid of sin in your life, you just want someone to tell you how to effectively overcome sin in your life. So when you observe the life of a born again Christian, you will see some of the manifestations of the aspects of the fruit of the Spirit, and as he or she matures in the knowledge of the Word of God, and the application of that Word of God in his or her life; people will see more and more of the other aspects of the fruit of the Spirit.

So sometimes in church, we have people who are not born again, but they are religious or convicted sinners. Knowing all the scriptures or quoting all the scriptures, does not mean that you are born again. Jesus likens those religious people to goats, not sheep, as we have explained in the “Perfect Redemption Plan: the Lord is my Shepherd”. But sometimes even worse than that, Jesus likens them to wolves in sheep’s clothing, saying: Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it. Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves (Matthew 7:13-15). Paul therefore tells us: awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge (agnosia: ignorant, ignorance, not have the knowledge) of God: I speak this to your shame (1Corinthians 15:34).

So if someone is practicing sin, that person does not know God, and Jesus will say to that person in the last days: I never knew you! Depart from me you worker of iniquity or lawlessness! So let us see some of the works of the flesh that we must get rid of in our life, so that we will be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that bear much fruit to the glory of our God (Isaiah 61:3). I know that you are already born again, yet Jesus wants you and me to bear fruit, and if we are already bearing some aspects of the fruit of the Spirit; the Father wants to prune us, so that we will bear much fruit. Jesus told us: I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away. And every one that bears fruit, He prunes it, so that it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:1-5).

Jesus tells us a parable that depicts the heart of God for believers. A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why does it cumber or use up the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down (Luke 13:6-9).

The fig tree represents the spiritual Israel that we have become, a tree of righteousness the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified in us (Isaiah 61:3, Hosea 9:10). The leaves talk about our profession or confession, and the fruits talk about us practicing what we are professing, or confessing to be. God’s plan is to train us for three years, and if we are slow learners to take a fourth year, to re-teach us the basics. But He wants to see fruits on us, we cannot just be using up the ground, a time must come when we must start practicing that righteousness, and doing the works of Jesus Christ. Please read the bible study on Come Home, we have explained what God expects for every born again Christian, the moment they are born again. You cannot dissociate the fruit of the Spirit from the anointing of the Holy Spirit, as we have explained in the Perfect Redemption Plan, part IV; for the olive oil or the anointing or the fatness of the olive tree of the Triune God; is obtained when the olives are crushed. Please revisit the chapters on the Trinity, and on the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in that Perfect Redemption plan, part IV. All these bible studies of My Weekly Milk are linked; you cannot pick and choose which one you want to read, you must read them all.

2. The works of the flesh

Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revelings, and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). Where did Paul mention it before? It was to the Corinthians, he said: Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10).

When a person, who professes to be a born again Christian, yet enjoys practicing these evident works of the flesh, it means that he or she is not born again, or is backsliding, and if he or she dies in that backsliding state, he or she will go to hell also. Sometimes some Christians fall into those works of the flesh which are but sins, because they do not know that they are sins, even iniquities; but thank God when they are taught, if they are born again but only backsliding, they will repent and stop practicing them.

The problem of the Corinthian’s church was, that they did not know who they were in Christ and what God has freely given to them, that is why they were sinning. Paul explained to them who they were in Christ, and when we read the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians, they had stopped doing those sexual sins and those idolatries. The answer of Paul to any problem in the church is: you do not know who you are in Christ, and what God has freely given to you, let me explain it to you! It is crucial that every born again believer should know the Perfect Redemption Plan of God and its application, and all the bible studies associated with them, even these My Weekly Milk.

I believe with my whole heart that there are genuine born again Christians who are practicing those works of the flesh, because they are ignorant; but I trust God that they will know the truth, and the truth will make them free. For Hosea said: God’s people perish for lack of knowledge, and because they have rejected the knowledge of God and His written word (Hosea 4:6). My prayer is that you and I will not fall into any of these two categories: but we will know the truth and will become doers of that truth not hearers only, deceiving ourselves (James 1:22). Now let us try to detail those works of the flesh. I was shocked when a sister asked me what revelling meant. I thought it was trivial for everybody, and the Lord told me to detail everything. So that is what we are going to do here!

2-1 Adultery

Adultery according to the Webster dictionary, is a violation of the marriage bed; a crime, or a civil injury, which introduces, or may introduce, into a family, a spurious (not legitimate or bastard) offspring. Unsaved people have practices that do not line up with the Word of God. Adultery is when one of the spouses mates with someone else, other than his or her spouse: it does not matter whether that person is single or married. Some of the unsaved people even swap their wife or their husband; it is great evil and adultery, even if the people are consenting to the swapping. All adulterers have their place in hell, in the lake of fire. If a born again Christian falls into adultery, he or she needs to repent of that adultery, and confess it to his spouse, to expose the work of darkness, because it is not just against God that he or she has sinned; but also against his or her spouse.

People will say I have confessed it to God I do not need to confess it to my spouse. It is the greatest mistake to hide it; for there must be transparency in the couple. The bible says of Adam and Eve before they fell into sin: they were both naked, the man and his wife; and they were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25). It is when they both sinned that they started to cover themselves, for they had something to hide, even a sin. Go and see a mature believer with your spouse, if you need help; but confess your adultery to your spouse. James says: Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much (James 5:16). It is very important in marriage to confess our sins, trespasses and faults to one another and pray for one another, so that we may be healed of our hurts. Marriage is like the relationship between Jesus the bridegroom and the church His bride; and Between God the Father who is the husband and Israel the wife.

When you read Jeremiah chapter three, adultery and divorce are discussed. Idolatry in the bible is likened to spiritual adultery, because we are married to God, and worshiping idols is cheating on God our husband. God knew that Israel was committing spiritual adultery. Though it hurt Him, He just wanted Israel to confess her adultery, and He would forgive her. God’s eyes see everywhere, you cannot hide from God’s presence (Psalm 139:7-12). But he wants us to take our responsibilities and ownership of our mistakes. The fact that the person confesses his or her adultery, means that the person is truly remorseful, and wants to amend his or her ways, and do his or her best to work on the marriage. But if the person does not confess it; it means that the person might do it again, people must take their responsibilities. If Christians knew that God’s standard for adultery was to not just confess it to Him; but also to his or her spouse, they would think twice before committing it. If the other spouse is born again, God will give them the grace to forgive and the Holy Ghost will heal the broken heartedness. And with time the wounds will heal and trust will be rebuilt.

about everything, even all temptations they have at work or in church: they expose the works of the devil, they will not fall into adultery. As you read your bible, notice how God, who is the husband, relates with Israel who is His wife. Notice how Jesus the bridegroom relates with the Church, who is His bride; and then reproduce it in your marriage. From Genesis to Revelation, you have the way God relates to His wife Israel. There have been a lot of adulteries on Israel’s part, but God has always been faithful, ready to forgive. There were times that God wanted to give them a bill of divorcement, but when Israel genuinely repented, God forgave them, and over time trust was rebuilt between God and Israel. Israel would put away all her lovers (idols) and only have God. People can forgive you any sin, but give them time to rebuild the trust. They must see that you have genuinely changed, and it was not just lip service you did, by confessing that unfaithfulness.

God had experienced the unfaithfulness of Israel, His wife, and though He forgave her and delivered her, He wanted to see if in the heart of Israel there was only God, and no one else. So He took them on a long Journey to reveal what was in their hearts, and the very moment Moses went up on Mount Sinai, for forty days and forty nights, they built idols of two gold calves to go back to Egypt. They proved that they could not be trusted. Trust is built, so let the people see in your life that they can trust you, it is not for you to force them to trust you. Let them observe your life, and conclude that you have genuinely changed, and they can trust you with their life, and dare again love you with all their heart, soul, mind and strength (Exodus 20, Matthew 22:37).

When God says: their sins and iniquities I will remember no more (Hebrews 10:17). It does not mean that God suffers from amnesia; that is the wrong understanding of who God is. David, a man after God’s own heart, understood what it meant. It meant that God, in His infinite mercy, has decided to deal with us, not according to our transgressions, sins or iniquities after we have made the decision of repenting of them. He says: Jehovah is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and rich in mercy. He will not always chasten, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so is His mercy toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, Jehovah pities those who fear Him. For He knows our form; He remembers that we are dust (Psalm 103:8-14).

–Just like God was angry when the people were unfaithful to Him; your spouse also will be angry and broken-heated, when you tell him or her of your unfaithfulness. The bible says: be angry and sin not; let not the sun go down on your wrath (Ephesians 4:26). Allow the spouse who has been betrayed to vent her feeling and her anger, for God knows our form; He remembers that we are dust; He knows the feelings of our weaknesses, our pain and broken-heartedness. The spouse that has been betrayed is rightfully angry and broken in heart.

People will say, I know if I tell my adultery to my spouse, it will be a divorce for sure! Jesus himself tells us that if there are sexual immoralities, divorce can be allowed in Matthew 5:32. God gave a bill of divorce to the kingdom of Israel with the capital in Samaria, because of their spiritual adultery, and later on gave a bill of divorce to Judah also, because of her spiritual adultery. Jehovah also said to me in the days of Josiah the king, Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has fornicated there. And I said after she had done all these things, Turn to Me! But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. And I saw, when for all the causes for which backsliding Israel committed adultery, I sent her away and gave a bill of divorce to her, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she went and whored, she also.

And it happened, from the folly of her whoredom, she defiled the land and fornicated with stones and stocks. And yet for all this, her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but with falsehood, says Jehovah. And Jehovah said to me, the backsliding Israel has justified herself more than treacherous Judah. Go and cry these words toward the north, and say, Return, O backsliding Israel, says Jehovah; and I will not cause My anger to fall on you; for I am merciful, says Jehovah, and I will not keep anger forever. Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have sinned against Jehovah your God, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice, says Jehovah. Turn, O backsliding sons, says Jehovah; for I am married to you; and I will take you one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion (Jeremiah 3:6-14).

We cannot work on that marriage or do counselling, unless you first of all acknowledge that unfaithfulness to the person you are married to. Just like God asked Israel and Judah to acknowledge their adultery to him, and to them, before they could work on forgiveness and restoration of marriage. We must do everything according to the scriptures. God will touch the heart of the person who is angry and wounded, because of the betrayal, and heal the broken heartedness. And the couple will have to go through marriage counselling. With time, trust will be rebuilt and the person that was betrayed will be able to deal with his or her spouse, not according to his or her unfaithfulness. It does not mean she has forgotten, no; because if you do not remember what led you to that adultery, you will repeat the same mistake.

That is why God recorded the mistakes of the people of God in the bible, for all of us to learn from them. It was not to shame His people, or that He did not forgive them, He truly did! It was to remind them of how they fell, so that they would not repeat the same mistakes. Whenever the new generation was acting like their fathers; God reminded them of what caused their father to be sent into captivity, even receive that bill of divorce from the Lord (Nehemiah 9). That is why many people who remarry, have a higher percentage of divorce. Many did not sit down to analyse what went wrong in the previous marriage, and why they divorced. What their share of responsibility in that divorce was, so that they could work on themselves. My prayer is that you will not suffer from spiritual amnesia, but you will remember why you fell into sin, and what led to it, so that you can avoid the same mistake next time!

2-2 Fornication

Fornication according to the Webster dictionary is the incontinence or lewdness of unmarried persons, male or female; also, the criminal conversation of a married man with an unmarried woman. Incest is also included in fornication, now incest is the crime of cohabitation or sexual commerce between persons related within the degrees wherein marriage is prohibited by the law of a country. Paedophilia is also part of fornication; now a paedophile is someone who has a sexual attraction to children, someone who has a sexual criminal conversation with a child, and someone who has a sexual act with a child. Rape is also part of fornication, now rape is the carnal knowledge of a woman forcibly and against her will. Pornography is also part of fornication, now pornography is a representation of obscene things in literature, or in arts (pictures, movies, paintings, sculptures) it has its roots in prostitution.

So fornication is the incontinence of a person, male or female, that person cannot keep himself or herself, he or she does not have self-control, which is one of the aspects of the fruit of the spirit. People think that it is only when you have physical sex with a person when you are not married yet; no; it is even when you are having a criminal conversation with a person. Today in our century many people commit fornication, but they do not know it is the devil deceiving them, telling them that they are not committing fornication. They spend time in chat rooms, or they call someone, and they entice each other sexually. Or today with a webcam people see the other person naked, or send their naked pictures to each other. Only your husband or wife should see your naked body. Over the phone people make sexual propositions to the opposite sex, do not listen to those conversations, it is of the devil.

Incest is part of fornication also, and it is not just the word of God that does not allow it, but even the Law of the land does not allow it. The person knows that he can never marry that person, because they are closely related, so they live in fornication, even incest. Now some incests are rapes even paedophilia; for one of the family members, or close relatives, start abusing one of the children sexually, or touching the child inappropriately. Those children or relatives are raped, like Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar (2Samuel 13). It is not only unmarried women that are raped, even married women are sometimes raped by their own husband. Some husbands will give their wives a beating, because their wife does not want to mate with them, and then when the woman accepts to mate with him, it is rape. That person is not born again, even if he goes to church every day.

Even the law of the land looks upon such a man, if the wife reports it to the police. If a man or a woman reports physical abuses they are receiving to you; you are bound by the law to report it to the police. Paul says: do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence (1Corinthians 7:5). So according to the definition of fornication, it is the incontinence of a male or female, it is of the devil, not of God. If a husband is beating the wife for any reason, or even to mate with her; one needs to report it to the police, not to pray about it, but to call the police. Paul says: Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them (Colossians 3:19). What Paul is saying here is, for husbands not to be bitter against their wives, like the Egyptians were bitter against the Hebrews. The Egyptians made the Hebrews’ lives bitter with hard work in mortar and in bricks, and in all kinds of work in the field; all their work in which they made them do was with harshness (Exodus 1:14).

When the Hebrews did not produce the quota of bricks imposed on them by the Egyptians, they were beaten (Exodus 5:13-16). Some men would beat up their wives because they did not cook well, or they did not clean or iron their garments, or they did not do a particular work in the house; in their eyes their wife is like a slave that they married to serve them. The Egyptians asked the Hebrews to kill their new born males! Any man who asks a woman he has impregnated, to abort that pregnancy, is making the life of the woman bitter like the Egyptian did to the Hebrew women. That man is a murderer according to the word of God, and is asking that woman to also commit a murder. God delivered the Hebrews from the hands of those Egyptians that made their lives bitter.

Pornography is also part of fornication; in our century it is hard to miss it. When you open the newspapers you see pictures of naked people or people exposing their private body parts. There are books that detail these stories of sexual infidelities, there are movies on that, and there are even free TV channels dedicated to pornography, on the internet we are bombarded with free movies or pictures of pornography. Jesus says adultery begins in the heart, not when we have committed it physically. I say to you, that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28). People, even Christians, in their rooms or behind their computers, or on their mobile phones, watch and read those things. I, Gery, was guilty of that as I have exposed in the bible study David’s Sexual Sin Exposed. It is of the devil, it is from prostitution, there is a spirit of harlotry behind it.

Paul says: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits fornication, sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have of God? And you are not your own, for you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1Corinthians 6:18-20). Paul does not say: bind the devil, or pray; he says flee: run for your life with fear in your heart. Joseph fled the scene and left his garment when Potiphar’s wife wanted him to commit fornication with her (Genesis 39). James explains to us the process of sin, saying: Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one. But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death (James 1:13-15). So that is why you need to flee before even meditating on that, when someone is having an obscene conversation with you, or sending you pictures that have pornographic connotation, stop it immediately.

I told you adultery or fornication begins in the heart. The fact that you are having a though about something ungodly or lustful, is not sin yet; but it is the beginning. You need to take that thought and imagination captive to the obedience of the word of God. Paul says: though walking about in flesh, we do not war according to flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, pulling down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ (2Corinthians 10:3-5).

If you decide to meditate on those thoughts and imaginations, you are opening a bigger door to the devil, to entice you further into his lustful and ungodly thoughts and imaginations. Do not meditate on them, Paul tells you that after you have taken those thoughts and imaginations captive, to the obedience of Christ; you need to meditate on something else. This is what you should meditate on: my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think and meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8). If you refuse to meditate on what Paul is telling you, but go a step further by using pornographic material; you now have opened a bigger door to the spirit of harlotry. It is no longer just you meditating on those lustful thoughts, but you are being strongly influence by the spirit of harlotry.

And you can gradually move from being oppressed by that spirit of harlotry, to being possessed by it. Sooner or later you will act on those imaginations and commit physical adultery or fornication. That is sin; and if you do not immediately repent of it and forsake it; but choose to practice it; it will lead you to death; for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Sometimes Christians are not under any spirit of harlotry; they just want to meet someone and get married; that is why they are behaving improperly toward believers of the opposite gender. Let them marry and they will no longer have that trouble. When sometimes the courtship has been for years, people can act indecently toward each other; because they have become too close, let them marry so that there will not be any appearance of evil (1Thessalonians 5:22). Paul tells us: if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn (1Corinthians 7:9). If anyone thinks he is behaving himself indecently toward his virgin (if she is past her prime, and so it ought to be) let him do what he will; he does not sin; let them marry (1Cornthians 7:36). Please read the bible study on He kept the best wine for the end.

I had to delete my very own friend from my Facebook and send his emails to spam; because he was always posting or sending pictures or videos of pornographic connotation. He was not happy, but I told him that it was of the devil, and it is a spirit of harlotry. Paul tells us clearly: Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1Corinthians 6:9-11). So it is not that some of us did not do it, I speak of myself when I was in the world, I was a fornicator and I was going to hell; but when I came back to God he delivered me, and set me apart for His kingdom, and gave me eternal life.

All things are lawful to me, but not all things profit. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any (1Corinthians 6:12). Yes, I can have friends, but if that friendship is not a godly one, and the conversations are leading to fornication or adultery, I will sever that friend from my life; because he is leading me to a pit. Yes TV, internet, mobile phones, newspapers, novels are lawful, but if they exalt themselves against the knowledge of the Word of God, I reject them. So I select the movies I watch. I remember I bought a ticket for a movie and it was rated 12 years old; but the very moment it started, they were using too much cursing and obscene language. I did not spend ten minutes, I left the projection and I went to watch another movie. The thing is, when you are genuinely born again, even obscene language will upset you; because the Spirit of the Lord is grieved in you.

Adultery and fornication are spiritual things, not just carnal things, they are deeply embedded in the spirit of harlotry or whoredom. It was the way the heathen nations worshiped their idols, as we will explain in the section on sodomites. When heathens went to the places of worship of their idols, there were temple prostitutes: male and female temple prostitutes. Before you receive a divination or anything from that idol, you will need to lie down carnally with one of those temple prostitutes, either male or female. They were the oracles of those idols which are but demons. That is why God hates fornication, adultery and homosexuality so much, because it is a way of worshiping demons, all who practice these things, if they do not repent and forsake their ways, they will burn in the lake of fire with Satan and his demons.

The Lord said to Israel: You shall not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a whore, lest the land go whoring, and the land become full of wickedness (Leviticus 19:29). I will make Samaria into ruins of the field, planting places for a vineyard; and I will pour down her stones into the valley, and I will uncover her foundations. And all her graven [carved on stones or on wood or on any other hard substance] images shall be beaten to pieces, and all her gifts shall be burned with the fire, and I will destroy all its idols. because she gathered it from the reward of a harlot, and they shall return to the reward of a harlot (Micah 1:6-7). Fornication and wine and new wine take away the heart. My people seek advice from their wooden idols, and their rod declares to them. Because the spirit of harlotry or prostitution or whoredom has caused them to go astray, and they have gone lusting away from under their God (Hosea 4:11-12).

Fornication, adultery and alcohol, go hand in hand like we will see later. It is the demon Bacchus that is behind alcohol and wild and loosed parties. So the way you worship that demon of alcohol and wild partying is by committing fornication and adultery. Drunkenness is sin, one needs to be careful with alcohol! When I used to live in a shared house with other students, they all had their boyfriends and their girlfriends and they were living in fornication. But something happened; whenever their boyfriends or girlfriends saw me, they were uncomfortable. Because they were being convicted that what they were doing was bad. One day my house mate said to me: my girlfriend is afraid of you, that is why she does not like coming to this house. I asked him: have I said something to her that offended her? Have I even spoken to her harshly? He said: no, but it is just you, you are a very nice person, but she is not comfortable around you.

I knew it was that spirit of harlotry that was afraid of me. They never brought their girlfriends or boyfriends again to fornicate with them in the house. Even when they came late at night and were drunk, they would go to their boyfriends’ or girlfriends’ house to fornicate there. Why? Because I took authority over that spirit of harlotry, and I cast it out of that shared house where I lived. When you understand that adultery and fornication has a demon behind it, you will have victory over that. Now those house mates were not born again, and I had no authority over them, but I have authority over all demons in the name of Jesus, and so do you. They went to fornicate elsewhere, not under the same roof with me.

If it is your husband or your wife, you have authority over that spirit of harlotry in him or in her, to cast it out even if she is not born again. Why? Because even if he or she is not born again, but because he or she is married to a born again Christian, you have become one. Paul says: for a born again woman who has a husband who is not born again, or a born again husband who has a wife who is not a born again Christian, that unsaved husband or unsaved wife is sanctified, or set apart by the born again wife, or the born again husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy (1Corinthians 7:13-14). The wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does (1Corinthians 7:4).

So the body of your husband or the body of your wife, whether he or she is saved or unsaved, it does not matter; for he or she has been set apart by you, and his or her body is your body, just like you have authority over your body to bind and cast out whatever you do not want in your body, you have the same authority over the body of your spouse, for you have become one flesh. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh (Genesis 2:24). So since you, as a born again Christian, have been sanctified by God to serve Him acceptably, God has also sanctified your spouse and given you authority over your spouse’s body, whether saved or unsaved, to bind and cast out all evil spirits that are in your spouse: spirit of harlotry, Bacchus spirit which is the spirit of alcohol addiction and drug addictions, and revelling, and all the other spirits we have listed in this bible study, you have authority to cast them out of the life of your spouse. And furthermore God says your children are cleansed and holy, even if they are not born again, yet they are holy so they should not be living like the heathens, for they have been set apart to God. God gave you authority over your children, so cast out any evil spirit from the life your children.

Now if your saved spouse or unsaved spouse is being influenced by that spirit of harlotry, take all his garments, all your bed sheets and lay your hands upon them, according to Acts 19:11-12; God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul, and now God is working them through your hands: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons (any garment, bed sheet), and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. And pray this prayer with me over those garments and bed sheets.

Father I thank you because you love me and you love my marriage it is honourable and the bed is undefiled (Hebrews 13:4). I thank you because the body of my spouse is my body, and I have authority over my spouse’s body. I impregnate these garments and bed sheets with the power of the Holy Ghost, and every sickness, every disease and every evil spirit in my husband, will immediately leave the body of my spouse the very moment my spouse touches one of these bed sheets or garments. I speak to you spirit of harlotry, alcohol spirit, and all addiction spirits, I command you to come out of my spouse’s body immediately in the name of Jesus and never return. I command you to leave my house in the name of Jesus. My spouse, I sanctify you in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father because I know that by the stripes of Jesus my spouse was healed and delivered of the oppression of Satan (1Peter 2:24; Acts 10:38), in Jesus’ name I have prayed, Amen!

If one of your children is manifesting any evil spirit; pray over your children, if they are already too old to listen to you, or let you pray over them; take their garments and bed sheets, and lay your hands upon them and pray a similar prayer. Your children are cleansed and holy or set apart from the heathens. The way the heathen children behave, is not the way your children ought to behave. Get the understanding and take control of your house, in the name of Jesus. Speak over the walls of your house and the doors of your house, and command that no spirit of drunkenness, spirit of addiction and sexual immorality will come under your roof; cast them all out of your house. That is what I did in the shared house I was living in. I spoke to the walls of the house and to every door of the house including the doors of the bedrooms of my heathen house mates, and commanded the spirit of harlotry to come out of that room and never enter those rooms again. And it came to pass, in Jesus’ name. God is no respecter of persons; you have the same Jesus and the same Hoy Ghost, and the same Father God.

God respects our free will and we can decide to walk straight into hell willingly. When we cast out those spirits from our house, they do not operate in our house again. But if the people want that spirit back, they can go willingly where they got it in the first place. Just like my house mates; they could not fornicate under my roof anymore, but they decided to go to the house of their boyfriend or girlfriend to fornicate. Not every divorce is caused by the devil, even Christian divorces, yes the devil enticed one of the spouses to either commit the adultery in the first place; but when the faithful spouse has cast the spirit of divorce, and prostitution out from under her or his roof, the unfaithful spouse cannot blame the devil anymore; he or she willingly went back to his or her lover, to practice that adultery again; thus taking back that spirit of prostitution. We pray for our spouse because we want to remove any influence or possession of the devil in his or her decision making, so that when he or she decides to carry on with the divorce or with the affair; we know he or she did it willingly.

I told you that incest is also part of fornication. I remembered going to Perth, Scotland in December 2014 to share the word of God in one of the churches. There was an elderly gentleman who had given his life to Christ for a couple of years now. He used to commit incest with his daughter when she was of a very young age. Everybody in Perth knew of this elderly gentlemen and his daughter. The daughter is a mess, because of what happened to her. Only when she receives Jesus Christ can she be truly helped. The father was full of shame because of what he did. He wanted to remarry; but when the Christian sister he was dating discovered by word of mouth, what the man used to do in his past life prior to his conversion to Christ, she went to see the pastor to cancel the wedding.

I was in Manchester in one of the prayer rooms of that church, and met a lady. She looked troubled. So I asked her if I could pray with her concerning what was troubling her. She was troubled about her daughter’s relationship. She thought that the husband was abusing her daughter and the children. I perceived in the spirit that it was not the case. The lady had asked her daughter to call the police many times; but her daughter told her no such thing was happening in their house. I said to that lady; these are your own fears that you are putting on your daughter and her marriage. I told her to confess: God has not given me a spirit of fear; but of power love and sound mind (2Timothy1:7). She did it and sent me a text that it truly helped her.

We kept in touch and every week I sent her the recorded My Weekly Milk bible studies, and prayed for her whenever she was going through things with her family. And she opened up to me and confessed that from the age of 2 years old, to 10 years old, when she found the courage to confront her dad that she would report what happened to the police. He stopped having sex with her, but he kept on beating her until she was 16 years old, and could leave the house. The mother knew what was happening, but kept silent. At 16 years old, when she left the house of her parents, she found she was freer; and over the years she opened up and shared what happened to her. Her mother is still angry with her for telling outsiders what happened to her in their house.

Today she is helping other women who were raped, or who were victims of incest like her. You see she is in her fifties now, and she is still haunted by that incest and beating of her father, and the silence of her mother. These are the fears she was projecting to her daughter, thinking that all men are like her father, and that her daughter will keep silent when the husband is abusing the children, like her mother kept silent in her case. I prayed for her, and I am still praying for her and her small group of victims of rape and incest. Only the spirit of the Lord can heal their broken heartedness (Luke 4:18). And only God can restore the affection and love of Abba Father in their hearts; for they have had the wrong kind of love from their earthly fathers or from men. They feel dirty and ashamed of what happened to them; only God can remove that feeling of filthiness and their shame, and give them acceptance in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:6).

The blood of Jesus will cleanse your conscience from that painful and shameful experience of incest and rape; so that you will serve the Lord acceptably. As it is written: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14)? As you are equipped with the knowledge of the word of God, and discover how your Abba Father in heaven so loves you; all shame, guilt, condemnation in your life, Jesus took them away. You are now in Christ Jesus; there is now therefore no condemnation, no guilt (Romans 8:1). Even if your heart is still condemning you and making you feel ashamed, guilty and condemned about the rape and incest that happened to you; I want you to know that God is greater than your heart, and He knows all things (1John 3:20).

Fear nothing; it shall be well with you and your children; now that you are in Christ Jesus; the thoughts that Abba Father thinks toward you are thoughts of peace, or restoration, not of evil to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). You are now of God, you are a new creation, old things are passed away in the eyes of God, including the rape and the incest; behold all things are new in you, and all things in you are of God, who has reconciled you to Himself through Christ Jesus, to show you the love of the true Father, even Abba Father (2Corinthians 5:17-18). Receive the love of your heavenly Father; receive His cleansing and His acceptance through Christ Jesus.

2-3 Lustfulness

Now lustfulness according to the Webster dictionary is the state of having carnal desires; it is Libidinousness the state or quality of being lustful; inordinate appetite for venereal pleasure. Now venereal means pertaining to the pleasures of sexual commerce. A venereal person is one addicted to sexual pleasures or venery. God is the one who created our bodies and intended for us to enjoy the body of our spouse. But lustfulness is of the devil, people who are addicted to prostitutes, to hookers, pornography, they pay for those sexual pleasures or they sell their body for money: they are prostitutes, hookers, etc. Some women or men also sell their body for money, but they do not think they are selling their body like prostitutes; they for instance mate with a man to pay their rent, or so that the man would buy them garments, or take them out for nice meals. They are toy boys or toy girls, it is the spirit of harlotry as far as the word of God is concerned, they are harlots.

2-4 Uncleanness

Uncleanness is a general name for all unchastity (incontinence; lewdness; unlawful indulgence of the sexual appetite), in thought, word, or action; and also design more especially all unnatural lusts, such as sodomy [or anal sex], self-pollution, bestiality (one who mates with a beast: dog, horse, cow) etc. Jesus also died for our mind. When we become born again God gives us the mind of Christ, and we need to renew our mind according to the written word of God; so that we will be able to think like Jesus, and to talk like Jesus, and to act like Jesus. If we do not take our unclean thoughts captive to the obedience of the written word of God, we might end up committing that sin in the physical. The devil has deceived many Christians that it is not a big deal to have unclean thoughts, as long as they are not voicing them out, or acting on them. It is wrong; the truth is, if a person is having unclean thoughts, though he or she is not voicing them out, or acting on them, their conscience would be accusing them, and their hearts would be condemning them.

We know that accusation and condemnation are the weapons of Satan; because he wants to rob you of your reward. For if your heart does not condemn you; you will have confidence toward God, and whatever you ask God in the name of Jesus, according to His written will contained in the word of God, you will receive it. Do not believe preachers who tell you: “it is okay to have unclean thoughts, and entertaining them in your heart; for everyone has them”. They are teaching you philosophy and psychology. Let no one, even a preacher; deceive you through philosophy and psychology, it is of the devil. The word of God tells us that the blood of Jesus cleanses our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). We have the power to take those thoughts captive, yes they can come, but we reject them in the name of Jesus, and we confess the scriptures.

A born again Christian who is always voicing out his or her uncleanness, and is not trying to renew his or her mind, might end up committing that uncleanness. The bible tells us: from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and it is most likely that he or she will act on those words very soon, like James explains: every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death (James 1:14-15).

Anyone lying with an animal shall surely be put to death (Exodus 22:19). It is directly of the devil. In Daniel 7, Satan empowers some beasts and works through them. In the book of Revelation also, Satan empowers some beasts to do his evil works. If a person has been lying with beasts, he or she needs deliverance, for he or she is demon possessed. That beast needs to be killed: if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, you shall kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them (Leviticus 20:16). We do not kill people in the New Testament, but we need to kill that beast. The woman or the man who lies with that beast, must confess that uncleanness, even bestiality and needs deliverance: they need to cast out that demon that is now in them.

If you or someone you know is lying with an animal, you can pray this prayer with them, or you can pray this prayer for yourself: Father I thank you because you have heard my heart cry, and I know you always hear me. You said if I confess my sins you are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness (1John 1:9). I am sorry for my uncleanness (name that uncleanness: sodomy, bestiality) I repent of that uncleanness and make a decision today to depart from that uncleanness forever. I plead the blood of Jesus to cleanse my conscience from this uncleanness, which is part of dead works, to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). I overcame this uncleanness by the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God and the written testimony of the word of God (Revelation 12:11). I thank you Jesus for setting me free today of this unclean spirit, for whom the Son has made free, is free indeed (John 8:36). I speak to you unclean spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus to come out of my body, leave it and never return, for Jesus has made me free, and I am free indeed. In Jesus’ name I have prayed, Amen!

2-5 Idolatry

Now idolatry is the worship of idols, images, or anything made by hands, or which is not God. Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues and pictures made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals. Many Christians are practicing idolatry and they do not know it. People have a picture of Jesus in their house, a picture of Mary, or a statue of Jesus on the cross, or a statue of Mary, or the Christmas manger scene of the baby Jesus in the manger. In the days of Jesus there was no photography, so no one knows how Jesus looked. Do not join in their idolatry, put your Christmas tree and the decorations, the baby Jesus and Mary, it is idolatry in the manger; but do not think that any of those things are holy and do not worship them.

That baby Jesus and Mary in that manger you have in some churches at Christmas, is just to represent what happened at the birth of Jesus. And the play that the children do, is to just tell people in a theatrical way what happened at the birth of Jesus. Unfortunately many people started to worship that ceramic baby and woman that was in that manger, thinking it was the image of the baby Jesus and Mary. And they started to worship those statuettes. That is why many churches have banned that nativity scene from their churches. Man is an idolater at heart; when you start making images of God and Jesus; he will sooner or later end up worshiping them. You shall not make any representation of God, Jesus is God. You shall not make for yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth (Exodus 20:2-4).

Please read the bible study Can Christians celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost? We discuss in length according to the scriptures what is right and what is wrong. We want every born again believer to know, without any shadow of doubt, what is permitted according to the scriptures, and what is idolatry according to the scriptures. God likes celebrations.

We do not pray to any dead saint or to their statue or their picture, we pray to the Godhead: the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We do not pray to any representation of Jesus: be it a picture of Jesus, or a statue of Jesus it is idol worship. Many eastern religions have statues, to which they make prayers: statues of men or women, statues of animals, statues of demons or aliens which are but demons. Do not be deceived, some Christians make prayers to angels: Michael or Gabriel, it is idol worship, any angel that demands worship is a demon. Throughout the bible angels refused to be worshiped, because they know only God needs to be worshiped: I, John, fell at his feet to worship him (the angel who spoke with me). And he, the angel, said to me, See, do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus, is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10).

In the Old Testament Abraham, Joshua, Gideon and other saints worshiped the Angel of the Lord. Now the Angel of the Lord or the Angel of the presence of the Lord, is the pre-incarnation of Jesus Christ. As Isaiah explained, saying: In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity, He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old (Isaiah 63:9). Jesus explained to the Jews, that the Angel of the Lord that visited Abraham in Genesis 18 with the two other angels and ate with him, was Jesus. He told them: Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and He saw and was glad (John 8:56). The Jews did not understand what He was saying, because they thought that Jesus was only a man, no Jesus is God, not just a Man, He has always existed and by Him, for Him and through Him was the whole world created. So He was manifested in the flesh 2000 years ago, but He has always existed. He has no beginning and no end.

Many Christians are also deceived, they love a certain man or woman of God, or a Christian singer, so that they almost worship them. We should never worship fellow humans, no matter how God is using them in signs and wonders. Anybody who demands worship or special honour because God is using them, needs to watch out, for pride might be found in their heart. In the world people have TV actors or musicians and they almost worship them, they make masks of their faces and wear them. It is idol worship. The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands (Psalm 135:15). Those who make them are like them, everyone who trusts in them (Psalm 135:18). In every nation they have their idols: actors, musicians, footballers, etc. If you start worshiping them or wanting to be like them, it is dangerous, especially if they do not have Christ, the demons they have, are the same demons you will have. People who listen to dark music, or watch horror movies, their life is also dark, they have addictions and all kinds of demons. We imitate men and women of God, as long as they imitate Christ, if they no longer imitate Christ, we stop following them.

2-6 Covetousness

According to the Webster dictionary, covetousness is a strong or inordinate desire of obtaining, and possessing some supposed good; usually in a bad sense, and applied to an inordinate desire of wealth, or avarice. What many Christians do not understand is, that covetousness is idolatry in the eyes of God. The person has made the thing which he or she covets into an idol in his or her heart. Paul tells us: Therefore put to death or mortify your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (which is idolatry), on account of which things’ sake, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, among whom you also once walked, when you lived in these. But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds and having put on the new, having been renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him (Colossians 3:5-10).

When Jethro the Father-in-law of Moses advised him to appoint rulers over the people, saying: Hearken now unto my voice, I will give you counsel and God shall be with you: you be for the people toward God, so that you may bring the causes unto God. And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover you shall provide, out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto you, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for yourself, and they shall bear the burden with you (Exodus 18:19-22).

For the kingdom of God to advance properly, we need to disciple people and empower them to disciple other people. Everybody should not be coming to the pastor or to the apostle or to the prophet or to the evangelist or to the teacher. But at every level there is someone who is appointed. In the house there is someone who does his or her best to read all the bible studies, so that she or he is ahead of everybody else in the house, and teaches the others in the house. In the house group or house church there is one who reads all the bible studies ahead of everybody, to know the truth and how to walk; so that he or she can teach others and disciple others. But if that person who is discipling others is covetous, he will twist the word of God for his advantage. He or she will on purpose hide the truth from other believers; so that they will never be empowered to disciple other people, but always coming to him or her; for he knows that people will be giving him money and gifts when he prays for them, or when he visits them.

Covetousness is a great hindrance for the furtherance of the kingdom of God. The Psalmist said: O Jehovah, teach me the way of Your Precepts, and I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your Law; yea, I shall observe it with all my heart. Cause me to walk in the path of Your Commandments; for I delight in them. Bow or incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to unjust gain or covetousness (Psalm 119:33-36). Covetousness is iniquity in the eyes of God, for He says: because of the iniquity of his covetousness I was angry and struck him; I hid Myself, and was angry, and he went on turning away in the way of his heart (Isaiah 57:17). Covetousness turns a person away in the way of his or her heart; she or he does not follow the word of God, but twists it for his or her own selfish interest.

Jesus gives us a severe warning, saying: Take heed, and beware of covetousness: because a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things which he possesses. And He spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, you fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God (Luke 12:15-21).

God is not against riches, David and Solomon were very rich; Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were very rich too. God wishes above all that we prosper in all things and be in health, just as our soul prospers (3John 1:2). Covetousness is idolatry, and idolatry is iniquity; it angers God when His people are covetous. Also if you treasure up the knowledge of the word of God for yourself, and never pass it on; God is not pleased with you either. Paul knew that some people think that they could be making a lot of money; because they are preaching the word of God. So for them Christianity has become a business: they sell their prayers, they preach for money, and they prophesy for money.

We are to bless men and women of God with our substance, as we have studied in the bible study on biblical prosperity. Please read it, so that you are equipped with the truth of the word of God. However if the motive of the man or woman of God, when they preach, is to preach in such a way that it will stir the people up to give them more money, or to pray a long prayer so that they impress people to give them more money, or prophesy what people want to hear, to get their money; they are already covetous, and iniquity is found in their hearts.

I do not have anything against people writing books, people producing CDs or DVDs of their teaching and selling them. Those who preach the gospel should live off the gospel (1Corinthians 9:14). Yet if our purpose in writing those books or producing those CDs and DVDs, is to stir up people’s emotions, so that they will make lots of money, or to have the best seller; we will be tempted to twist the word of God, or to only preach things that will make people like us; because we want to make a lot of money. God knows our heart and our motives.

Paul wrote a lot of letters to the churches, if Paul were charging money for his letters, I guess you and I would not have received the New Testament. If the prophets were selling their prophecies, you and I would not have received the Old Testament. They wrote things in their letters or in their prophecies which were not pleasing to many people, things that made kings put them into jails, things that caused them to be killed; because people did not want to hear such things. So they were not writing to have a best seller book; but they were writing only what God says.

Paul says to Timothy: If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil suspicion, Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that godliness is a means for gain: from such withdraw yourself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment, let us be therewith content. But those who want to be rich (by twisting the word of God to their own selfish ambition) fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money or avarice is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness (1Timothy 6:3-11).

Money is not evil, but the love of money or avarice which is an inordinate desire of gaining and possessing wealth; covetousness; greediness or insatiable desire of gain is. Such men or women of God will go to any length to get money from the people; they will practice all the financial manipulation that we have listed in the bible study on biblical prosperity, they will sell their prayers, they will sell their “anointing”, they will ask for money for “healing”. All these practices are from the devil, that is why Paul said to Timothy, from such so-called men or woman of God who think that godliness and the preaching of the gospel is a means for gain, to rip off some gullible and desperate Christians, withdraw yourself. Some people also have used the church as a platform to do their business and introduce their pyramidal business schemes, and all kinds of business.

They brought it into church, because they know that church members trust the pastor, and if the pastor introduces their business to the church members; the people will think that the pastor prayed about it, and God already gave His approval. So the members will invest their savings in that pyramidal business scheme, or in those real-estates, or in those insurances, or in the shares of a business, etc. Many churches and ministries have been destroyed because of that, church members lost their money and sued the pastor or the evangelist, who invited those businesses into the church or ministry! Jesus says: It is written, “My house is a house of prayer,” but you have made it a den of thieves (Luke 19:46).

Some people always call me because they want to introduce a business or a pyramidal business scheme to me, and use my sphere of influence in the gospel to spread their business. So whenever they call me, I know they have a business that they want me to introduce into the church. After I have turned them down about four times, all of a sudden they are no longer calling me that often. We must be careful about what we do in the house of God: it is a house of prayer for all nations. If a church member has started a business like a convenience store, a barber shop, an agency, a dental practice; businesses that are safe and have a real product to sell, not speculation, yes, in that case we joyfully help the brother or sister build his or her business, employ other church members in his or her business; for he or she is offering real jobs and selling real products.

There have been Christian brothers who have asked me to write them a referral for a job; but I told them I could not write it; because they were not faithful people. My dealings with them have shown that they never kept a single word they said to me. And if I write on that referral paper that they are faithful, diligent, honest, hardworking, self-motivated and enthusiastic it will be a lie; for they have demonstrated the opposite of all these, in their dealings with me. So I tell them: please find someone else who knows you better than I do; to whom you have demonstrated these qualities, so that he or she can write them on your referral paper. As for me, I cannot lie; because I am an ambassador of Jesus, by signing my name on a paper, I also represent Jesus my King, who sent me. If that person is not what I said they are on paper, I will be a liar, and Jesus’ name will be despised! And by so doing every other genuine Christian and faithful Christian that I recommend in the future, to that company or institution, will not be accepted; because the previous person I recommended, turned out to be the total opposite of what I said!

Jesus himself tells us: Beware of the scribes (writers of spiritual books), which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, and the chief seats in the synagogues (places of worship), and the uppermost rooms at feasts: Who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation (Mark 12:38-40). Yes these people, supposedly men of God, were after the money of those desperate widows, they needed prayers because they did not know what would happen to them, since their husbands were dead, what would happen to their children, since they had nobody to provide for them. And these so called men of God, took advantage of their desperation to rip them off.

Paul reminds the church in his letter to the Thessalonians, that he did not act like those covetous people who thought that godliness was a means for gain, saying: our exhortation to you was not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile, but as we have been approved by God, to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who tries our hearts. For neither at any time did we use flattering words as you know, nor with pretence of covetousness; God is witness. Nor did we seek glory from men, neither from you nor from others, being able to be so with heaviness, as apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse warmly cherishes her children. So affectionately longing for you, we were willing to have imparted to you, not only the gospel of God, but also our own souls, because you have become beloved to us. For, brothers, you remember our labour and toil. For labouring night and day in order not to put a burden on any one of you, we preached the gospel of God to you. You and God are witnesses how holily and justly and blamelessly we were to you who believe (1Thessalonians 2:3-10).

The bible is clear on the subject of covetousness. People like that have no part in the kingdom of God. As it is written: Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10). And in the parable of Jesus of the rich man who was covetous in Luke 12:15-21; God called him a fool; a fool is one who says there is no God (Psalm 14:1). When he died he left all those riches, he was rich toward himself, but not toward God. Learn the bible study on biblical prosperity and you will be rich, not just on earth, but also towards God. As we have seen according to the scriptures covetousness is idolatry and iniquity (Colossians 3:5; Isaiah 57:17). And no idolater or covetous person shall inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10).

Jesus tells us: No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). Now mammon is the god of greed (being greedy is wanting to have more than one ought), mammon is also a god of gluttony (being gluttonous is not being able to refrain oneself from excess eating and drinking, voracity of appetite). Yes in Luke 12:15-21, the rich man was covetous and only thought about eating and drinking and being merry.

There is a demon behind covetousness, and its name is mammon: the god of greed and gluttony. Men or women of “god” who are under the influence of the mammon spirit, want to have more than what they ought, therefore they twist the truth of the word of God to get money they want from the people, or to have any earthly possessions. Again God wants us to prosper and become rich, read the bible studies on biblical prosperity and the series on the Perfect Redemption Plan. God wants us to prosper His way, not the way of the world. He does not want the avarice or the love of money to cause us to depart from His Word. Buying a mansion or a private jet is not covetous, as long as your money is not coming from the church members, or making merchandise of the gospel. Cry out to God to give you power to get wealth, in a way that will bring glory to His name, and not bring reproach to it.

Jesus told us another parable: Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For I say to you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be able. And once the Master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He shall answer and say to you, I do not know you; from where are you; then you shall begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You have taught in our streets. But He shall say, I tell you, I do not know you; from where you are. Depart from Me, all workers of iniquity! There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you will see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrust out (Luke 13:24-28).

My brothers and my sisters, there are many things that go on in church today, and people think because God is not saying a word that He is pleased with what is going on in His Church. As for you, strive to enter in at the narrow gate; you will be safe. Avoid covetousness, stop ripping off the people of God by selling prayers, anointing, by manipulating them financially. Covetousness is iniquity, and those who practice covetousness, will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gambling is covetousness: lottery, casino, scratching cards, etc. The day will come when Jesus the Master will shut the door, and those covetous men and women of “god” will knock at the door. But Jesus will not open for them, for they are workers of iniquity, He never knew them. Christianity is an individual walk with the Lord, the entire world can decide to do what is not right according to the Word of God; but it is your personal responsibility to do what is right, according to the Word of God.

Joshua said to the people of Israel: Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve Jehovah. And if it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live (or mammon the god of greed and gluttony which is behind covetousness, or the Balaam spirit which is behind all financial manipulation, or the Jezebel spirit which is behind manipulation, and murdering the prophets and apostles of Jesus, or the Bacchus spirit which is responsible for revelry and all addictions, or any other demon out there). But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah (Joshua 24:14-15).

You have received the truth today, and in all those My Weekly Milk bible studies you have been taught the acts of God, the will of God, and the ways of God, like Moses said to the people: the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may do it (not just read it, but become doers of it). Behold! I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil, in that I command you today to love Jehovah your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, so that you may live and multiply. And Jehovah your God shall bless you in the land where you go to possess it (Deuteronomy 30:14-16).

But even if nobody else decides to do it, though it has been told you, as for me, Gery, and my house, we will serve Jehovah; because we want to please our Father, who so loves us and gave His only begotten Son Jesus to die in our stead. But, beloved, I am persuaded better things of you and things that accompany salvation, though I speak in this way (Hebrews 6:9). I desire that each one of you show the same eagerness to the full assurance of hope to the end, that we all should not be slothful, but imitators of those who through faith and patience, inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:11-12).

2-7 Sorcery or witchcraft or magic

Now sorcery is Magic; enchantment; witchcraft; divination by the assistance of evil spirits, or the power of commanding evil spirits. Even manipulation is the spirit of witchcraft. Please read the section on discerning of spirits, (Application of the Perfect Redemption Plan Part 5) to study succinctly what sorcery is, and how it operates, so that you can avoid it, and not practice it.

2-8 Hatred and malice

Now hatred is a great dislike or aversion (which is opposition or repugnance of mind); hate; enmity. Hatred is an aversion (opposition or repugnance of mind) to evil, and may spring from utter disapprobation, as the hatred of vice, or meanness; or it may spring from offences or injuries done by fellow men, or from envy or jealousy, in which case it is usually accompanied with malevolence or malignity (which is an extreme enmity, or evil dispositions of heart towards another; even malice without provocation, or malevolence with baseness of heart; deep rooted spite). Extreme hatred is abhorrence or detestation.

Now malice is an Extreme enmity of heart, or malevolence; a disposition to injure others without cause, from mere personal gratification or from a spirit of revenge; unprovoked malignity or spite, to regard with extreme ill will. Paul tells us: Therefore put to death or mortify your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (which is idolatry), on account of which things’ sake the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, among whom you also once walked, when you lived in these. But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his deeds and having put on the new, having been renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him (Colossians 3:5-10). There is an evil spirit behind malice and hatred, which is the spirit of revenge, it is not just a feeling, and the devil is behind it.

We have seen that hatred and malice may spring from offenses and injuries done by fellow humans. Many couples keep malice and many brothers and sisters keep malice too. Those who will deeply offend you and hurt you, are those closest to you; because you opened your heart to them. When there has been unfaithfulness in the marriage, if it is not resolved; there will be malice in that couple. When there is no financial transparency in the couple, there will be malice. In church leadership also, there can be malice; especially when the main leader allows flattery, all the people become evil, and put stumbling blocks on each other’s path in church leadership.

God hates it when we retaliate, which is to return like for like, to return evil for evil, to repay or requite by an act of the same kind as has been received. God said to the lands of Tyre and Sidon and all the coast of Philistia, which wanted to take revenge on Israel, for they were their enemies. God said to them: will you render Me a recompense (make return of an equivalent for anything given, done or suffered)? And if you recompense Me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense (make return of an equivalent for anything given, done or suffered) upon your own head (Joel 3:4). Or will you retaliate against Me? But if you retaliate against Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head (Joel 3:4).

God said the same thing to Edom the descendants of Esau, who had retaliated against Israel the descendants of Jacob; because they did not forgive the fact that Jacob stole the birth right of the firstborn, and its blessing from their father Esau. God said through Amos: Edom did not remember the covenant of brotherhood; therefore the Lord will not turn away their punishment, because he pursued his brother Israel with a sword and cast off all pity, Edom’s anger tore perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever (Amos 1:9-11). And the Lord said through Obadiah to tell Edom: your reprisal (which is to return evil for evil to Israel the descendants of Jacob because of what their father Jacob did to your father Esau) shall return upon your own head (Obadiah 1:15). I, the Lord, will avenge the Israelites, for vengeance is Mine, says the Lord and I will repay. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of my redeemed is come (Isaiah 63:4). There is no place for you Edom to escape My reprisal: though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down, says the Lord (Obadiah 1:3).

Esau forgave his brother Jacob as we read in Genesis 33, but the descendants of Esau (the Edomites) did not forgive Jacob and his descendants (Israel). For they kept that wrath forever, waiting for an opportune moment to retaliate against Israel. You see God takes it very personal when brothers fight, when we want to retaliate or avenge ourselves. It should not be so among brothers and sisters in Christ, and even toward people who are not saved. That is why Jesus tells us: you have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (which is retaliation; to return evil for evil as Moses instructed you in Exodus 21:24; truly I say to you it was not truly the heart of God; God wants you to forgive your brothers and sisters who did you evil and not break the brotherly covenant): But I say unto you, That you do not resist evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also (Matthew 5:38-40).

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord (Romans 12:19). Your God will avenge you; you do not need to repay any one evil for evil. Extend the grace of God towards people around you, even your enemies, and let God deal with them. Jesus tells us again: You have heard that it has been said: you shall love your neighbour, and hate your enemy (yes, I know it was Moses who told you that in Leviticus 19:18; saying: you shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the LORD. But I say to you God does not want you to apply that only for the children of your people, the children of Israel or the born again Christians, God does not want you to avenge yourself, nor bear any grudge against anyone, whether they are saved or unsaved, and you love your neighbours as yourself, whether they are saved or unsaved). Now I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you. So that you may be the children of your Father, who is in heaven: for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust (Matthew 5:43-45).

Some couples have hatred in their hearts, but they do not know it, they keep malice. They do not truly forgive their spouse for the offences, hurts and injuries they have done. So they are silent, but they are taking an inventory of all the offences the other spouse has done to them. I have shared my testimony of abhorrence for some of the dictators and the people who supported them, to commit genocides. I needed to forgive them, and move on with my life. Many couples divorce because they keep malice. The bible says that we must speak the truth in love, when a brother in church or your spouse does something that offends you, go to that brother or sister and discuss it with them. Tell them that you did not like what they did. And if they do not want to listen to you, call another brother or sister who is spiritual, and confront that brother or sister or your spouse, and let that spiritually mature brother or sister demonstrate from the scriptures, what the right thing to do is, not according to traditions and customs, but according to the written word of God.

Please read the bible study on Abecedary of Prayer and learn how important it is to forgive each other. Couples must pray together. The purpose of the prayer of agreement is, that instead of defeating one thousand enemies each, the two of us can put ten thousand enemies to flight. This can only happen if we have a pure heart towards each other; if we keep malice, our prayer of agreement will not work. That is why Peter tells couples about prayer, saying: the holy women hoping in God were in subjection to their own husbands; as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good and fearing no terror. [Peter is asking the wife to honour, respect and constructively obey their husband, as long as it is not violating the word of God.] Likewise, husbands, live together according to knowledge, giving honour to the wife as to the weaker vessel, the female, as truly being co-heirs together of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers or hindering your prayers (1Peter 3:5-7). When there is no mutual honour between husband and wife, it creates room for malice; which in turn hinders our prayers of agreement.

Jesus gave us that example of how to deal with things, saying: if your brother shall trespass against you, or offend you, or sins against you, or misses the mark, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears and understands you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear nor understand you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector (Matthew 18:15-17). Let the brothers or sisters you call to solve your conflicts, give you what the written Word of God says, not what their traditions and customs say. We are Christians, and the word of God is our final authority. If we decide to act on the word of God, we will experience the blessings of the promises of God; but if we decide to act on our traditions and customs, we are on our own, there is no power in them.

Jesus says: you have made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honours Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men (Matthew 15:6-9). The problem sometimes is, Christians reject the commandments of the Lord for them, and teach people their traditions and customs. The people are not healed emotionally, so they keep that malice in their hearts. There have been times I have confronted some Christian brothers or sisters and shown them from the scriptures, that what they did to me was not right, how they offended me. But they refused to repent, and gave me a justification of their conduct, according to their traditions and customs. And when I went to see the pastor; the pastor also gave me a justification of the behaviour of those brothers or sisters, according to their traditions and customs.

So just like Jesus told me: if it happened, I should consider them even as heathens or sinners, even tax-collectors (Matthew 18:15-17). I must love them with the Agape Love of God, regardless of how they act toward me. I need to pray that God will open their eyes, and stop exalting their traditions of men, above the written Word of God. Hosea prophesied: God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge of the ways and the will of God contained in His written Word, they only know the acts of God; but some other Christians are destroyed because, though they received the knowledge of the ways and the will of God contained in His written Word, they decided to reject it, or neglect it, to teach the commandments of men and their traditions and customs; thus making the Word of God of no effect in their life (Hosea 4:6). Many people would want to fast and pray so that God will bring peace into their marriage, into their church; but God is telling them: just read my bible and do what I told you to do in the bible, and your home or church will be peaceful.

Hosea says: God desires loyalty, faithfulness to His written Word and not sacrifice (long prayers and long fasting, all that we ought to do, but first let us obey the Word of God). God desires that we should have the knowledge of God (what He has done for us, and what He has freely given unto us) more than burnt offerings, which are offered for our sins. In other words instead of confessing our sins and trespasses everyday, He would rather that we know who we are in Christ, what has been freely given to us, so that we would stop sinning once and for all! For some of God’s people are oppressed by the devil and broken in judgment; because they willingly decided to ignore God’s Word, to walk by human precept (any man-made commandment or order intended as an authoritative rule of action) (Hosea 6:6; Hosea 5:11). Yes, they willingly decided that their traditions, their customs, their psychology and philosophy, were the authoritative rules of their action, not the written Word of God.

When people act that way, do not hate them, for God who dwells in you is love, and He has poured out His love in you, when He sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in you (Romans 5:5). Decide to take an inventory of what is good in the life of those brothers and sisters, and just pray for them. Paul tells us: Finally, my brothers and sisters, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, take an inventory of these things, and think on these things, even meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8). My prayer for you and I is, that the written Word of God will be the only authoritative rule of all our actions, heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word of God will by no means pass away, forever the Word of God is settled in heaven, and may that Word also be settled in our hearts, in Jesus’ name Amen!

2-9 Fighting

By fighting Paul means: physical fighting with people, contention, strife and quarrel. Now the work of the soldier is not a sin, it is not a sin for Christians to be in the police or in the army. When the soldier and the tax-collectors came to John the Baptist to repent of their sins and to confess them publicly and be baptized, they asked John the Baptist what they should do now, since they are baptized: should they resign from their professions of soldiers or tax-collectors? As it is written: the people asked John the Baptist, saying, What shall we do then? He answered and said to them, He who has two coats, let him give to him, who has none. And he who has food, let him do likewise. And tax-collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, Teacher, what shall we do? And he said to them, Continue to do no more than that commanded to you. And the soldiers also asked of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said to them, Do not forcibly extort anyone, nor accuse any falsely. And be content with your wages (Luke 3:10-14).

In the ten commandments it says you shall not murder (Exodus 20:13). As you read the book of Joshua, they conquered the land by killing their enemies. David also killed many enemies of Israel including Goliath, but when David arranged the death of Uriah to look like he was a casualty of war; God convicted David of murder. The work of a soldier is not sin. Paul tells us: Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but of God; the authorities that exist are ordained by God. So that the one resisting the authority, resists the ordinance of God; and the ones who resist, will receive judgment to themselves. For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire to be not afraid of the authority? Do the good, and you shall have praise from it. For it is a servant of God to you for good. For if you practice evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, a revenger for wrath on him who does evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes. For they are God’s servants, always giving attention to this very thing (Romans 13:1-6).

Some Christians do not have self-control, they have an anger problem. They easily fight physically with people, because they have made them angry. Anger rests in the bosom of fools (Ecclesiastes 7:9). Some couples are fighting all the time. I had a cousin, she believed if her husband does not fight with her for at least a month, he does not love her; because according to her, if they fight it means that the husband is jealous and thus loves her. The fighting escalated and today they are divorced. I do not know where people get these stupid ideas! The bible tells us, if people fight all the time in the house, they will go their separate ways. Jesus says: if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand (Mark 3:24-25). Some people do not fight physically, but they keep malice, and we have seen it is part of hatred, and we should not have it in our heart at all.

Contention which is part of fighting, is strife; struggle; a violent effort to obtain something, or to resist a person, claim or injury; contest; quarrel. We are all sons and daughters who are serving their Father God. Paul tells us: an overseer must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not full of passion or soon angry, not given to wine, not quarrelsome, not greedy for ill gain; but hospitable, a lover of good, discreet, just, holy, temperate, holding fast the faithful Word according to the doctrine, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and to convict the gainsayers (Titus 1:7-9). Every born again believer is overseeing someone: the husband is overseeing his wife and his children; the wife is overseeing her house and her children. We are called to make disciples of all nations, so every born again Christian is supposed to be discipling another Christian; so that he or she is overseeing the soul of that disciple. We are not to be quarrelsome at all, not to be easily angered. We should not use violent efforts to obtain something from people, but in love and gentleness we will have what we desire.

Contention and nagging are kinfolk. To nag is to annoy by constant scolding [or to annoy by constant harsh criticism and usually angrily], complaining or urging, finding fault constantly, thus becoming a constant source of anxiety and annoyance. Solomon says: It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a quarrelsome or contentious woman, and to share a house (Proverbs 21:9).

It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a quarrelsome or contentious and angry woman (Proverbs 21:19). A never-ending dripping in a very rainy day and a quarrelsome or contentious woman are alike (Proverbs 27:15). Some women do not know why their husband does not want to come home straight after work; he would rather take an extra shift at work, than come home; because the wife is constantly nagging. That woman is destroying her house with her own hands. The solution of Paul for nagging men and nagging women is: Finally, my brothers and sisters, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think on these things, meditate on these things and take an inventory of these things (Philippians 4:8).

Learn to praise people for the good that they do, for their positive side, focus on what they are doing well, and praise them for that; do not always focus on the negative side of people; for we are all a work in progress, we have not arrived yet, but we are pressing on to that perfect man and that perfect woman, for whom Christ Jesus, The Perfect Man, died. Even in church some people would leave a church, no matter how good the preaching is; because whenever they come to church, brothers fight them, though they do not want to fight them back. If People are always contentious with them, they will end up leaving that church. David was serving Saul, he was fighting the battles of Saul, but Saul, because he was so insecure, started to fight David and tried to kill him. David had to flee into the wilderness and hide in the cave of Adullam (1Samuel 22, 1Samuel 23, 1Samuel 24).

Personally I do not like it when people are fighting; be it in church or in homes, I feel very uncomfortable. And I do not visit them often, because they force me in a way to take someone’s side. And when people fight me for no reason, though I am serving them, like Saul fought David; I pray and if God asks me to leave, I leave them. Even Jesus knew that the Jewish leaders wanted to kill Him, so He no longer walked in Judea for a while (John 7:1). I love them and pray for them; but I am not going to fight with brothers or sisters. God hates it when brothers or sisters fight; by so doing they are breaking the covenant of brotherhood (Amos 1:9). So God truly hates it when couples fight, for it is the weapon of the devil to destroy their marriage. Marriage is a blood covenant, not a mere contract.

As coals to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man to kindle fighting. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a broken piece of pottery with silver waste. He who hates pretends with his lips and stores up deceit within him. When he makes his voice gracious, do not believe him; for seven hateful things are in his heart (Proverbs 26:21). Beware of talebearers. Talebearers start a lot of contentions. When someone tells you something against another person, go and confront that brother or sister immediately. The bible says: a talebearer or one going with slander, is a revealer of secrets, but the faithful of spirit keeps the matter hidden (Proverbs 11:13). If people know that you are not afraid of confronting people according to the counsel of Jesus in Matthew 18:15-17; talebearers will not come to you because they are afraid to be exposed. You are a king or queen, the bible says: A king who sits in the throne of judgment, scatters away all evil with his eyes (Proverbs 20:8). When people see you coming, they know that you will not tolerate their evil for a second, but you will expose it, and drive it away.

2-10 Jealousies

Now jealousy is that passion of peculiar uneasiness, which arises from the fear that a rival may rob us of the affection of one whom we love, or the suspicion that he has already done it; or it is the uneasiness which arises from the fear that another does, or will enjoy some advantage which we desire for ourselves. God Himself is a jealous God, and His name is Jealous. You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. For I Jehovah your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, to the third and fourth generation of those that hate Me (Exodus 20:5). You shall worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14). El Qanna or Jehovah Qanna is His name.

It is good to be healthily jealous for your spouse, and not be insecure. We should never tolerate sharing our spouse with someone else. But the jealousy Paul is talking about here, is the unhealthy one. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind (2Timothy 1:7). Some people are unhealthily jealous in that they do not even allow their wife to work, because they think she might meet someone at work, or some will not allow their spouse to talk to a person of the opposite gender; they fear that something might happen. They will fight their spouse if such a thing happens. Unhealthy jealousy is deeply rooted in insecurity and fear, people do not know who they are in Christ Jesus. If a person is unhealthily jealous, he cannot be in the ministry of reconciliation, for you will minister to men and women, always within the boundaries of the written word of God.

Even in church some believers are jealous of other believers. It is simply because they are insecure, and do not know what God has freely given to all believers. God is no respecter of persons. Whatever you want to have in your life, find out what the Word of God says about it, have the correct understanding of those scriptures, and go and do likewise, and you will experience the manifestation of the same promises (Luke 10:25-28). The solution for jealousy, is to know the love of God for you, who you are in Christ Jesus, and act on that knowledge. Perfect love casts out fear, and jealousy is rooted in fear and insecurity. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind.

Jealousy has destroyed and limited many ministries, for if the man is the pastor, and his wife is unreasonably jealous, she will not allow him to pray for other women, she will not allow other women to call him on his mobile. A pastor’s wife was driving out every single woman that joined their church. Whenever there was a single woman that walked into the church; that evening at home, she would be accusing her husband of looking at her, and accusing that single woman of dressing inappropriately to seduce the pastor. In one of the churches I attended, there was a group of women; they were very insecure about single mothers who walked into the church. They never allowed their husband to even chat in church with any of those single mothers, or play with her children. So that women group ended up being only for married woman.

If we deal with our fears, we can help many people in church. Those children raised by single mothers sometimes have no father figure in their life. The church can create a venue where fathers and children do activities and the children of single mothers also join in. Some men also raise their children on their own; either because they are widowers or just single fathers. The church can create a venue where mothers and children do activities, and the children of single fathers or widowers also join in. Of course you will have to entrust those children to spiritually mature mothers and fathers in the church.

Couples must be transparent in everything, so if that pastor’s wife is not a talebearer or a slanderer the pastor can share people’s problems with her. That is why when Paul gives the criteria of selecting church leaders; he insists that the spouse of that church leader, must not be a slanderer, or gossip or talebearer (1Timothy 3:11). Why? Because it will destroy the church and their own marriage. How? Let us say that it is the husband that is in church leadership. If the husband notices that she is a talebearer, he will stop sharing details of the conversations he had with some church members, to avoid contention in church. So when she notices that, she might think that her husband is having or thinking about having an affair, because he is no longer confiding in her. So she will become overly jealous, and will intercept all the phone calls of her husband. She will be calling or texting every 15 minutes when her husband is out ministering, and she is not with him. When female members call her husband, and they know that she is a talebearer, but she is the one who picks up her husband’s mobile, so they say: I want to speak to the pastor or the deacon. And she answers: whatever you want to say to my husband you can say it to me, and I will speak to my husband.

So the church members will say to her: it is not important I will wait until I see the pastor or the deacon in church. They do not want to share with the wife of the minister, not because they are female and have a hidden agenda toward the minister; but because they have experienced that the wife of the minister, could not keep a secret. Had she proved to people that she is not a talebearer, and was ministering side by side with her husband, they would have told her what the problem was, and she would have prayed with them right then, and told them: I will also share it with my husband, and we will keep praying for you. But if she is a talebearer or a slanderer, the minister will be put in an uncomfortable situation. His wife will be putting pressure on him to share details of his discussions with church members, and especially female members. The pastor for the sake of peace in his own home will share them.

And the next thing you know, the wife starts gossiping about it, so it hurts the members, and though they know it is not the minister that slandered them but his wife, they will never share their difficulties with the minister again, because they cannot trust his wife. Yes, when you are in ministry you are to share everything with your wife, pray together, minister side by side, and be transparent about everything. Yet your spouse must not be a talebearer, or they must work on it. So Paul says to Timothy, no matter how well versed in the scriptures a man is, or a woman is; if his or her spouse is a talebearer or a gossip, do not put him or her in church leadership, until their spouse has worked on that issue (1Timothy 3).

2-11 Anger

Anger, according to the Webster dictionary, is a violent passion of the mind, excited by a real or supposed injury; usually accompanied with propensity to take vengeance, or to obtain satisfaction from the offending party. This passion however varies in degrees of violence, and in ingenuous minds, may be attended only with a desire to reprove or chide the offender.

Anger is also excited by an injury offered to a relation, friend or party to which one is attached; and some degrees of it may be excited by cruelty, injustice or oppression offered to those with whom one has no immediate connection, or even to the community of which one is a member. Nor is it unusual to see something of this passion roused by gross absurdities in others, especially in controversy or discussion. Anger may be inflamed till it rises to rage and a temporary delirium.

Christians still have flesh and blood, though they are now worshiping God in Spirit and truth. Once in a while people around us will wrong us and we will be angry. Being angry is not sin, but it is how we deal with that anger that matters. When people wrong us we do not ignore it, we do not also make light of their offenses, or their betrayal, or of the fact that they have forsaken us. We can even tell them the truth in love, that what they did was wrong.

Paul for instance says: Alexander the coppersmith showed many evil things to me. The Lord will give back to him according to his works. You also should beware of him, for he has greatly withstood our words. At my first answer no one was beside me, but all deserted me. May it not be laid to their charge. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and that all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me to His heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (2Timothy 4:14-18).

So you see it really hurt Paul that people, who called themselves his brothers and sisters in the Lord, deserted him, when Alexander and the people of the same trade persecuted him. But Paul decided to forgive them and pray that God will not lay this charge of desertion on the brethren. He decided to put his eyes on God to stand with him; and God did and delivered him. Jesus also in the hour of His passion, all His disciples were scattered from Him, and even Peter denied Him three times; but He forgave them and asked God not to lay it to their charge. Even on the cross Jesus decided to forgive the people who crucified Him, saying: Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34). Paul learned from Jesus and decided to forgive the brothers and sisters who deserted him, and put his faith in God.

Paul tells us to imitate him as long as he imitates Christ; if he does not imitate Christ in a particular subject, we should not imitate him on that particular subject (1Corinthians 11:1). Paul, also in the beginning of His Christian walk did not take it well when Mark John, the cousin of Barnabas, deserted them to go back to Jerusalem. After Mark John deserted them Paul was beaten, stoned and left for dead at Lystra and suffered many other things. Now when the churches were established and they wanted to visit them, Mark John the cousin of Barnabas wanted to join them. Paul was not at all happy, but Barnabas wanted to take him, Paul did not forgive Mark John for deserting him, he was angry.

Luke records that incident for us, saying: some days afterward, Paul said to Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brothers and sisters in every city where we have announced the Word of the Lord, to see how they are holding to it. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, he being called Mark. But Paul thought it well not to take that one with them, he having withdrawn from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work. Then there was sharp contention, so as to separate them from each other. And taking Mark, Barnabas sailed to Cyprus. But choosing Silas, Paul went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God, passing through Syria and Cilicia, making the churches strong (Acts 15:36-41).

You see, Paul himself, who had the revelation of the works of the flesh, had a sharp contention with Barnabas and their apostolic team split. So even Paul walked at times in the flesh; but Paul later reconciled with John Mark the cousin of Barnabas, and was now working with him. And when Paul writes to Timothy he says to him: Make haste to come to me quickly. For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and he has departed to Thessalonica. Crescens went to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is profitable to me for the ministry (2Timothy 4:9-11). So Paul had learned to deal with people who desert him in ministry, by extending love and forgiveness to them.

I was doing a job for a church, and the people, who said they would help, did not keep their word. I was so angry. I was angry for a couple of months. And as I was reading the bible God spoke to me. He told me: see the example of Paul, you too do not wait for a long time or do not even have any contention with any of those people who forsook you; but whenever they decide to come, let them come and minister. So one day one of them told me: you think that people have forsaken you and you are angry. I said to him: it is not that I think that they have forsaken me, they have indeed forsaken me! But like Paul I said: I stood alone but God is with me, and may God not lay it to their charge. I am not angry, I was angry, but I have forgiven and moved on. Later when some of them came where the work was done, I honoured them and allowed them to minister.

These people were calling me, and I always talked nicely to them, and even encouraged them, that they should not feel bad for not keeping their word, for I understood some of their family situations made it hard to keep their words. Some of them have apologized, some have not; but it does not make any difference to me. I have forgiven them all and God is always standing with me, that is the only thing that matters. We speak the truth to people in love, we do not have to be hypocrites. If we are hurt, or angry because of how people have dealt with us, or abandoned us, we read what the bible tells us, and decide to act on the Word of God.

You shall therefore obey the voice of the Lord Jehovah your God, and do, observe and accomplish His commandments and His statutes which I command you today (Deuteronomy 27:10). Paul tells us: For whatever things were written before, were written for our learning, so that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have hope (Romans 15:4). As we read the mistakes of those men and women of God that God used, and how they acted; we also do the same thing. Paul did not have the New Testament, but you and I have both the New and Old Testament. Let us read our bible and find out what God expects from us; so that we will always walk in the spirit, and not in the flesh.

And even if people, who promised to help you or deliver you, have deserted you, forsaken you, and abandoned you; I say to you that deliverance and help will come from elsewhere, even from God. Mordecai said to Esther: if you are completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house shall be destroyed. And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this (Esther 4:14)? What people do not understand is, that God has given them a great privilege to be co-labourers with you, through Christ Jesus in the work of ministry (1Corinthians 3:9). The Psalmist says: I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where shall my help come from? My help comes from Jehovah, who made Heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2). Jesus promised me: lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20). I will never leave you nor forsake you so that you will boldly say: the Lord is my helper, therefore I will not fear; what can man or woman do to me (Hebrews 13:5-6)?

As you become a doer of the Word of God, it will be easier for you to forgive people, and not keep your anger for a long period. Paul tells us: Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath (violent anger; vehement exasperation), neither give place to the Devil (Ephesians 4:26-27). People have also used this scripture to avoid talking about what they did wrong. No, if a person has hurt you, tell him or her in love, that he or she has hurt you; and then commit it to the Lord to heal your broken-heartedness. Do not have that anger for a long time; deal with it quickly; because it is the weapon of the devil to destroy the work of God in your life, and in the life of people who need your help. The devil through anger generated a sharp contention between Paul and Barnabas to divide their apostolic team. Do not allow your anger to become a violent anger or wrath; for the devil uses that to destroy things around you.

In that wrath or violent anger things can be said that would separate best friends, brothers, spouses, churches, apostolic teams, even lead to murder. Cain did not deal with his wrath or violent anger. In the end of days, it happened, Cain brought to Jehovah an offering of the fruit of the ground. And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock, and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering, but He did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain glowed with anger, and his face fell. And Jehovah said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed? And why did your face fall? If you do well, shall you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door; and its desire is for you, and you shall rule over it. And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him (Genesis 4:3-8).

Do not bottle up your anger, talk about it with God and with the person who offended you, or hurt you. God was the one who came to Cain to talk to him about his anger; because God knew that Satan wanted to use it against him, and people around him, to destroy not just his life, but the life of people around him. Many crimes of passion are committed because one of the spouses has been bottling up anger in their heart, and one day that bottled up anger became wrath or violent anger, that even led them to kill their spouse. They do not just destroy the life of their spouse, but their own life, and the lives of the children. Cain destroyed the life of his brother Abel, the life of his parents, and his own life; for the earth became cursed because of the blood of Abel that was shed, and he himself was sent into exile, banned from the presence of the Lord, just like when you go to jail for murder.

Edom or Esau was also wronged by his usurper, his brother Jacob, when he took his blessing of the first born (Genesis 27). Esau was so angry that he purposed to kill Jacob, as soon as Isaac their father was dead. Jacob had to flee for his life. Esau said to his father: Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, me also, my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold! Your dwelling shall be of the fatness (fertility) of the earth and of the dew of heaven from above. And by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother. And it shall be when you shall have the dominion or become restless, you shall break his yoke from off your neck (Genesis 27:38-40).

Yes, Esau was hurt, he even wept, he was fuming mad at Jacob and murder was in his heart. But after Jacob had fled; Esau worked, he moved up to the fertile mountain God had blessed him with. As he tilled that mountainous region of Seir, the Lord was faithful to send the dew of heaven and the rain to water his crops, that it may give bread to the eater and seed to the sower (Isaiah 55:10). With his sword he fought for the land of Seir and the Lord delivered the giants that used to occupy those mountains in his hands, and he destroyed all of them (Deuteronomy 2:5-12). So God truly prospered the works of the hands of Esau and his sword, as Isaac his father blessed him. He became restless and broke the yoke of being a servant of his brother Jacob.

After twenty years, when Jacob was coming back to the land of Canaan, Esau rode with four hundred men to meet his brother Jacob. He had forgiven him, and he had broken the yoke of servitude from his neck. Jacob only had seventy people with him, but Esau met him with four hundred servants. Esau even refused the gifts of Jacob, he did not need it He had enough. Esau ran to meet Jacob, and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him and they wept (Genesis 33:4).

Now the two of them were weeping, not because one had wronged the other, but because they were reconciled. Esau forgave Jacob, he was no longer angry. Esau asked, whose is all this camp which I met? And he said, To find grace in the sight of my Lord. And Esau said, I have enough, my brother. Keep what you have yourself. And Jacob said, No, please, if now I have found grace in your sight, then receive my present from my hand. For therefore have I seen your face, as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me. Please take my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he accepted (Genesis 33:8-11).

Esau was no longer a servant of his brother Jacob, but became more prosperous than Jacob, and Jacob even called him lord (Esau), saying: please let my lord (Esau) go on ahead before his servant (Jacob). I will lead on slowly at a pace which the livestock that go before me and the children are able to endure (Genesis 33:14). If only you decide to forgive the people who have wronged you, you will be amazed at what they will do for you. Yes, you have all the good reasons not to forgive them. But I tell you, God has seen how you have been wronged, and will break the yoke of all the usurpers who stole from you.

A day is coming and now is, when you no longer serve them, but they come and bow before you, that you will not even have to envy them at all. They will be the ones calling you lord, and they will be your servants. As the Lord God promised, saying: kings shall be your foster fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in Me, will never be disappointed (Isaiah 49:23). Yes, Esau was not disappointed, God keeps His words, if we forgive those who wronged us: Jacob bowed himself to the ground, and then all his wives, children and servants bowed down before Esau with their faces to the ground (Genesis 33:1-7, Luke 11:4).

Esau left the land of Canaan to Jacob and the inheritance of their Father Isaac, to Jacob, he did not need it anymore; for he became richer than Jacob since he conquered the land of those giants and their inheritance (Deuteronomy 2:5-12). There is a reward from the Lord when we forgive people that is why Jesus, when He taught us how to pray he said: forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us (Luke 11:4). Please revisit the bible study on Abecedary of Prayer and learn about the importance of forgiveness in our prayer life.

My prayer for you is that you will not be angry forever, but you will forgive people who have wronged you, and God will prosper you far beyond the people who have wronged you, they will come bowing before you asking to find favour in your sight, they will bring presents to you and whatever present they bring to you, it will be so insignificant to you because God has so blessed you, that you have need of nothing. May those who once wronged you, when they see you again, testify that seeing you again is as seeing the face of God; for they have obtained mercy in your sight and you decided not to deal with them according to the evil they did to you, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

2-12 Rivalries

Rivalry, according to the Webster dictionary, is a competition; a strife or effort to obtain an object which another is pursuing; as rivalry in love; or an endeavour to equal or surpass another in some excellence; emulation; as rivalry for superiority at the bar or in the senate. Sometimes in church brothers and sisters are competing with each other: who has the best car, who gives the biggest tithe or pledge, who has the finest raiment, who is sitting in the best chair in the church, who preaches the most eloquent sermon, who comes up with the newest revelation, who can quote the best philosopher or scientists thoughts. Some brothers and sisters in church fight to have the pulpit on Sunday or fight to give a prophecy every Sunday, so that they will be seen as “spiritual” by men. All those behaviours are embedded in rivalry.

2-13 Divisions

Division is the act of dividing or separating into parts, any entire body. Paul says: I exhort you, brothers and sisters, to watch those making divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them. For they who are such, do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches they deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience reached to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf, but I would have you truly wise as to good, and simple toward evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen (Romans 16:17-20).

Division always comes when people are resisting the doctrine or teaching of the Word of God. Those people cause division, because they have a hidden agenda; they are after people’s money, so they bank on the ignorance or simplicity of the mind of some believers, to exploit them financially. Divisive people do not want to demonstrate things according to the written Word of God, they will always tell you that so and so said, that one preacher said, and the other preacher said. They will not point you to what Jesus said, or what is written in the Word of God. The series of the bible studies on the Perfect Redemption Plan and the Application of the Perfect Redemption Plan, and all the bible studies attached to them, give us the doctrines of Christianity according to the written Word of God.

Division happens when either one of the parties or the two parties decide not to obey what the Word of God says. In divorce it is when one of the spouses, or the two, do not want to obey the counsel of the Word of God. In ministry it is when one of the parties does not want to obey the Word of God. Like we have seen with Paul and Barnabas, but later we have seen how Paul was able to forgive John Mark, and work with him again in ministry. Now the church of the first century is not the church of our century. They did not have nominations or denominations, they only had one church. They did not have any bigotry, they were not sectarian. Our loyalty is to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the written Word of God; not to a nomination or denomination. If God asks you to leave a church to go to help Him in other churches; go, for there is only one body of Christ.

If God asks you to move into a new church, so that you will be properly fed spiritually; go to that church. If your pastor is violating major doctrines, or there are financial manipulations, or they allow the Balaam and Jezebel spirits to operate in their midst, and then God asks you to leave, leave! You are not being divisive; for what is being preached there is contrary to the doctrine or teaching of Jesus that you have learned, avoid those people.

Paul says: I wrote to you in the letter, not to associate intimately with fornicators; yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you must go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to associate intimately, if any man called a brother, and is either a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one not to eat. For what is it to me to also judge those who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But God judges those who are outside. Therefore put out from you the evil one (1Corinthians 5:9-13).

So you see, we need to go back to the pure doctrine of the Word of God. I do not have friends who call themselves born again and are fornicators, or idolaters, or revilers, drunkards or extortionors. I tell them to be born again and stop practicing sin, for all who practice these things have no part in the kingdom of God. So how much more if the leader is practicing sexual sin: adultery, fornication, incest, paedophilia, etc. I pray for the soul of that leader; but I also pray to God, if He wants me to be in that church under that leader. Yes, God forgives when the person repents and turns his life around. But only God knows if that person has truly repented, our loyalty is to the Word of God and the Godhead. We love the people but we hate their sin.

So if I decide to walk according to the Word of God and not associate with the people who call themselves born again, and are practicing those sins; I am not a divisive man, though some religious people would tell me: where is the love? If I am obeying the Word of God and the Word of God says: if you love God do His Word. So by so doing I love God though people may think I do not love them. If the people genuinely repent, then I restore my close fellowship with them, as Paul instructed us.

2-14 Heresies

Heresy according to the Webster dictionary is a fundamental error in religion, or an error of opinion respecting some fundamental doctrine of religion. By now we know that Christianity is not a religion, but is the relationship with the Godhead through Christ Jesus. Jesus is always concerned about what our reading of the scriptures is, and what our understanding of what we read is (Luke 10:25-26). For if you have never read the bible or what the bible says on a particular subject, you will come up with your own opinion, or your own thoughts, which are not from God, and you will be in heresy about fundamental teaching of the Christian walk. If you have read what the bible says about a particular subject and decide to interpret that scripture according to your traditions or your customs, you will also be in trouble, for you will make fundamental mistakes on teaching of the Christian faith.

The bible interprets itself; you need to read it from Genesis to Revelation. God has something to say about everything that pertains to our life and our godliness, and it is contained in the bible, and if we ask the Holy Spirit to explain them to us, He will do so. People who are working with the spirit of antichrist are heretic people. Please read the part of discerning of Spirits. People who do not believe in the resurrection of the dead and the second coming of Jesus Christ, are heretic also. The core doctrine is the person of Jesus: who is the Son of God, who is fully God, who is the Christ of God, who came in the flesh and blood, not in spirit, who was born after the flesh of Mary, was crucified according to the scriptures, buried according to the scriptures, and raised on the third day by the Spirit of God, according to the scriptures. If someone does not have this Jesus Christ who is described, he is in heresy and a heretic.

2-15 Envying

Envy according to the Webster dictionary is to feel uneasiness, mortification or discontent, at the sight of superior excellence, reputation or happiness enjoyed by another; to repine at another’s prosperity; to fret or grieve one’s self at the real or supposed superiority of another, and to hate him on that account.

Envy was the main problem of the Jewish leaders, they could not handle the success of the ministry of Jesus, and how Jesus was performing miracles. How the fame of Jesus spread because of the miracles (Matthew 4:24, Mark 1:28). Envy is very dangerous, because it can lead to murder; the Jewish leaders killed Jesus because they envied Him. Pilate answered them, saying, Do you desire that I release to you the King of the Jews? For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him because of envy (Mark 15:9-10). When God starts performing miracles through your hands and preaching; watch out for envious people, for they feel inferior and insecure that the whole world is going after you, and your teaching of the resurrected Christ, who is the same today and does the same miracles through you (John 12:19). They were offended because they were the ones who went through the bible schools of the Pharisees and Sadducees, and here is Jesus, a carpenter and his disciples: fishermen and tax collectors: healing the sick, casting out devils and raising the dead.

They so badly wanted to do what Jesus was doing with His disciples; but they did not know how to do it. They asked the people Jesus healed: how did He heal you, what did He do, what method did he use (John 9:26)? They were so envious because they were the ones who had the education, and were supposed to be eloquent in speech; but this Jesus, son of a carpenter, was so eloquent in speech; they sent people to arrest Him, but those people could not resist the words of Jesus. Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees. And they said to them, why have you not brought Him? The officers answered, Never did any man speak as does this Man. Then the Pharisees answered them, also, have you not been deceived? Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in him? But this crowd, not knowing the Law, is cursed (John 7:45-48).

They envied Jesus and wanted to be like Him, and to have the same success He had, to have the same miracles, and to have the same crowds; but they did not. That is why they envied Him. And when they could not stop the crowds from leaving them and their dead religion, to follow Jesus and His disciples, they had to murder Him. Then the Pharisees said among themselves: do you see how you gain nothing? Behold, the world has gone after Him (John 12:19). Then the chief priests and Pharisees gathered a Sanhedrin, and said, What can we do? For this man, Jesus, does many miracles. If we let Him alone this way, all will believe on Him. And the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation. And one of them, Caiaphas, being the high priest of that year, said to them, You do not know anything at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation perish (John 11:47-50).

Yes, you see they truly envied Jesus. He was getting all the crowds from them; He was working too many miracles, so they needed to kill Him to save their religion. Even today in churches when you believe the Perfect Redemption Plan of God, and God is working miracles in your life; religious believers will envy you, and fight you all the time. Religion is void of the power of God. Religious believers also envied Paul and persecuted him, they called him all kinds of names like they did Jesus, and they called him a deceiver, a fake; because they wanted to stop the crowds from listening to his message.

They enticed the crowds to stone Paul and leave him for dead in Acts 14; they wrongly accused him of many things like they did Jesus. The chief priests accused Jesus of many things, but He answered nothing (Mark 15:3). The Jews also accused Paul of many things which they could not prove before Festus (Acts 24, Acts 25). You do not have time to be answering or defending yourself before people who envy you, Jesus did not do it. They have already made up their mind about you, so whatever you say will not change their opinion. Even in Church, some people who envy you, they will first of all preach against you and your ministry before preaching Christ. They will first of all abuse you verbally before preaching Jesus. Paul knew that and told us: some indeed even preach Christ because of envy and strife, and some also of good will. Those, indeed, preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds. But these others preach in love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? Nevertheless, in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is preached. And I rejoice in this. Yes, also I will rejoice (Philippians 1:15-18).

I had to believe that scripture of Paul and start acting like Jesus and Paul. I was in one church for almost two years, I was preaching every Sabbath; for they kept the Sabbath. The people were lovely people, they loved God with all their heart; but they were deceived by religion. God sent me to that church to heal the sick. When I came there all their leaders were given a medical report that told them they had only six months to live, some had a medical report that they needed to have an amputation of their leg, etc. So instead of believing the report of the Lord, they believed the report of the medical people. When I preached the Word of God, some of the pastors did not like it; because they wanted me to tell the people: “it shall be well with you in heaven, for in heaven you will see Jesus, and there will be no sickness there”.

But instead I preached divine healing. So when the other pastor preached before I preached; all his preaching was against me, saying: God has now given healing to the medical people, not to the church any more. But when I came to preach; I thanked him and said some scriptures of love and then preached divine healing. And one by one people were being healed, their leg was not amputated. So he came again and forbade that anybody should lay hands on the sick, that everybody should do penance to be healed. Penance is of the devil! It is not in the bible; but had been invented by man-made religion. So when it was my turn to preach; I thanked him again and said some words on love and then preached on laying on of hands, and afterwards I laid hands on the sick. You see he could not handle the fact that God was healing people as I was laying hands on them. And last of all he had a heart attack, and he was left in the hospital, the doctors did not want to operate on him because he was too old, and could die in the operating room; so they decided to just keep him in the hospital until he died.

So I visited him in the hospital and explained the scriptures on healing to him, and laid my hands on him. So his health improved, and the doctors decided to operate on him. He recovered faster than a baby, for a guy that was 85 years old. Two weeks later, when he saw me again in church, he hugged me with tears in his eyes. You see, do not be mad at people who envy you, one day they will need your help. You keep doing what God told you to do in the written Word of God. When you are sick, all your doctrines of why God does not heal stop, suddenly you just want one thing: to be healed. Jesus is the same yesterday: today and forever. You do not need to envy anybody, know who you are in Christ Jesus, and what God has freely given to you by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and go and do what is written about you in the bible, and you will have the same results Jesus had, Paul had, and the apostles had; God is no respecter of persons.

Many times those who preach against divine healing do so because they have been sick, or one of their loved ones died. They are hurt and they decided to play it safe; they say: I do not want to give people false hope by preaching divine healing! Love them, and continue to pray for them, that God will open their eyes of understanding.

2-16 Murders

Murder is the act of unlawfully killing a human being with pre-meditated malice, by a person of sound mind. To constitute murder in law, the person killing another must be of sound mind or in possession of his reason, and the act must be done with malice prepense, aforethought or pre-meditated; but malice may be implied, as well as expressed.

As Christians we are in the New Covenant, there are many Scriptures in the Old Testament that prescribed the putting to death of some people who did not serve God in a particular way. To stone the adulterers and adulteresses to death; to stone homosexuals, people who lie down with beasts, people who practice idolatry, sorcerers, mediums, magicians, etc. to death. People ask: why was God so hard on sin, to even prescribe death? Paul answers it for us: Why then the Law? It was added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come to those, to whom it had been promised, being ordained through angels in the Mediator’s hand (Galatians 3:19).

Think of it this way, a little child does not know what is right and what is wrong yet. He starts by doing things and waits to see what the parents will say about what he has done. If the parents do not say anything; he thinks that the parents condone his behaviour, and even when the parents tell him what is wrong and right, he still wants to do what is wrong, and see if he can get away with it. So he does it, and waits for the response of the parents, and if they do not discipline him, he continues in his bad behaviour, even if it might destroy his life. But when the parents start to smack his buttocks, he understands that the parents truly were displeased by his behaviour. So the degree of severity in punishment for certain sins in the bible, was to let them know how much God was displeased by their actions. It was also to put reverent fear in their hearts, so that they would not get close to those sins that had immediate deadly punishment, just like a child when you show him your rod, he understand that if he does that thing he is about to do, he might get a smacked buttock.

God tried to trust man and not punish him immediately for his sin, but it did not work, as man became very evil and transgressions abounded. And the entire world became evil; only one family was left on earth that was righteous, Noah’s family. So God had to destroy the entire world with a flood, and start a new family with Noah (from Genesis 5 to Genesis 8). The plan of God was to bring the Seed of the woman into the world, to redeem the earth and its people. But Satan who also knew the promise made to Eve in the Garden of Eden; as we explained in the Perfect Redemption Plan: the Lord is my righteousness; was busy polluting the human race, so that there would be no righteous virgin woman at the time God would want to bring the Seed of the Woman into the world.

So after God had taken for Himself Abraham and his descendants to be the family, through which He would bring the Seed of the woman, Satan also decided to defile them like the other families of the world. So when God had delivered them from the slavery of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness; the very moment Moses went on the mountain of Sinai to meet the Lord, they built their two idols of golden calves to worship and lead them back to Egypt. God was so angry, so He said to Moses: I have seen this people, and indeed they are stiff-necked, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume or destroy them. And I will make you a nation (Exodus 32:9-10). So you see the Devil had perverted the people of God with idol worship, to provoke God to wrath, so that He would destroy all of them like He did in the days of Noah, and start again from one family, even the family of Moses. If he did not stop the plan of God to bring the Seed of the woman, at least he could do his best to delay it, by causing God to constantly restart from one family.

But Moses interceded for the people, and God did not destroy them all, and start afresh with Moses. But God now gave them the Law, a set of rules and regulations: do’s and don’ts to tell them what the standards of God were. God threatened them severely with death if they committed some transgressions, so that he could at least preserve a righteous virgin woman, through whom the Seed of the woman could be born, to redeem the world. God invented a religion to force mankind to practice righteousness and be preserved until the Seed would come to redeem us from the law and its curses. When Jesus, who is the Seed of Abraham and the Seed of the woman came, died on the cross and rose from the dead; God gave us a New Covenant based on better promises.

The Spirit of the Lord could come into every born again believer and the love of God was divinely poured out in their heart, to serve the Lord acceptably (Romans 5:5). Yes, Jesus embodied the Law, He is the Word made flesh, and when they drove those nails through His body, and the handwriting of requirements that were against us, even the curses that sentenced us to immediate death, He took it out of the way, to give every one time to repent, and come to the knowledge of the Son of God (Colossians 2:13-15). If anyone goes to hell at the end of his or her life, it is because he or she refused to receive the free gift of salvation, for God has truly given us a better deal in the New Testament.

Yes, today transgressions have not stopped; but God has given us His Spirit, so that we are able to rule over sin, for where sin abounds grace (the unmerited favour of God and His divine empowerment to rule over sin) abounds much more (Romans 5:20). So in the New Testament Christians do not kill people because they have committed a particular sin that sentenced them to death. We do not go about burning sorcerers, mediums, magicians, wizards and witches alive; or stoning adulterers and homosexuals, etc. to death. We extend the mercy of God to them and tell them that if they do not repent and be born again, they will be sent to hell, but they do not have to, they only have to be born again. Saul who later became Paul, was thinking he was doing God a favour when he was killing Christians. But he was actually fighting and persecuting Jesus. Saul fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? And he said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute: it is hard for you to kick against the pricks or thorns (Acts 9:4-5).

If you kick thorns you will injure yourself for those thorns or pricks will enter your flesh; you will literally have thorns in the flesh! In other words calamities will befall you, like the Canaanites were a thorn in the flesh of the Israelites. And you will perish from off the good land because of the thorns in your flesh (Joshua 23:13). Paul, who was a Pharisee, understood exactly what Jesus was telling him: it is hard for you to kick against the pricks or thorns, because the result will be that you will have thorns in the flesh! Those thorns in the flesh or calamities will not be from the devil, but from God! Anybody who fights the people of God and the work of God, is not smart at all! For God says: Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm (Psalm 105:15, 1Chronicles 16:22). It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31). So God struck Paul with blindness first, Saul was smart, he stopped fighting God’s work and God’s people. He understood that calamities from the Lord were about to befall him and overtake him, if he did not stop persecuting the church, and the ultimate result would be perishing from off the good land, even his death!

There is nothing new under the sun, what we are going through is what the people of old went through; but they read the bible, and saw how God wanted them to relate with the world around them; so that He could display His love and power through them. Simon the Canaanite, in Matthew 10:4 also known as Simon the Zealots in Luke 6:15, was one of the apostles of Jesus. Now in those days Zealots were a set of men, who, in imitation of Phinehas, who slew Zimri and Cozbi in the very act of uncleanness (Numbers 25), when they found any person in the act of adultery, idolatry, blasphemy, or theft, would immediately kill them without any more ado (without any rapid motion with noise or agitation): this they did, from a pretended zeal for the honour and glory of God: nor were they accountable, to any court of judicature for it; yes, such an action was highly applauded, as a very laudable one. Now Simon was of this sect before his conversion, and still retained the name afterwards.

Sometimes when I get to church, some preacher would take the example of Phinehas in Numbers 25, they rejoice and wish that things were still like that today, that we will kill all sinners so that the fear of the “lord” will come back into the church and in the land. Paul tells us: the times of this ignorance God winked at (God overlooked many things we did, even in “his name”); but now commands all men everywhere to repent, to renew their mind in the light of the revelation of the Love of God and the New Covenant (Acts 17:30). In John 8 we have the woman who was caught in the very act of adultery, and as we explained in the bible study Neither do I Condemn you, that the people who dragged her before Jesus wanted to stone her, or to thrust her through with a spear like Phinehas thrust through Zimri and Cozbi in Numbers 25.

The truth is God’s standards are higher than human standards. Jesus told us: You have heard that it was said by them of old time, you shall not commit adultery, But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart (Matthew 5:27-28). So according to that standard of God, how many even today should have been killed? I confess I was guilty even as a born again Christian. Covetousness according to God’s standard is idolatry (Colossians 3:5). So how many Christians have ever coveted something? I have coveted even as a born again Christian! Thank God for the New Covenant.

Simon the Zealot, when he became a follower of Jesus, he stopped applauding people who were murdering for the so-called “zeal for the honour and glory of God”. He saw how Jesus forgave that woman caught in the very act of adultery in John 8. Jesus did not say to Simon the Zealot: take your javelin like Phinehas, and thrust this woman through! No, Jesus said to all the people who wanted to kill that woman: he who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first (John 8:7). Yes, all of us were born in sin, and even after we are born again, some of us still sin. We all should have been thrust through with a javelin like Phinehas did. But thanks be to God, Jesus was thrust through with a javelin or spear for you, as it is written: one of the soldiers with a spear pierced Jesus’ side, and forthwith came there out blood and water (John 19:34).

The days of Phinehas are over; when Jesus died you died with Him, when He was pierced through, you were pierced through with Him. Jesus says to you: it is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up the ghost (John 19:30). Now, Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen (Revelation 1:7). We must pray that the Lord will pour out upon each one of us His Spirit of grace and supplication, to be able to pray for people who are sinning, and extend grace to them in the light of what happened on the cross, when Jesus was pierced for all our sins. As it is written: I will pour on the house of David, and on the people of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of prayers or supplication, and they shall look on Jesus whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be bitter over Him, as one that is in bitterness over the first-born (Zechariah 12:10).

Yes my brothers and my sisters, behold Jesus, who was pierced through for you, and put your faith in Him. Let every eye look to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds (Hebrews 12:2-3). Therefore if anybody sins, let him or her simply confess their sin and genuinely purpose to turn their back from that sin, and God is faithful and just to forgive them and to cleanse them from their sin (1John 1:9).

Paul explained to us in Hebrews 9 that the blood of Jesus brought a reformation in the ways God dealt with people; for the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed to the last drop, after the soldier pieced him through, has perfected what the blood of bulls and goats could not do. The reformation that the blood of Jesus Christ brought to the Law of God, was not just to the ceremonial laws of animal sacrifices; for Jesus fulfilled all the animal sacrifices God instituted in the ceremonial Law, as we explained in the series of the perfect redemption plan. That is why we no longer do any animal sacrifice in the new covenant, because a better sacrifice was provided, even the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That reformation also affected the three feasts God commanded Israel to observe in Deuteronomy 16:16; Passover feast, feast of weeks or Shavuot and feast of tabernacles. These three feasts were fulfilled at the birth of Jesus, for the feast of tabernacles, at the death and resurrection of Jesus, for the Passover feast, and at the day of Pentecost for the feast of weeks or Shavuot. Please read the bible study on Can Christians celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.

This reformation that the blood of Jesus brought to the Law of God, also stopped the physical death sentences that were attached to some sins; for Jesus was pierced through for all who practiced abomination in the sight of God. That is why we no longer stone to death, or pierce through with a javelin: adulterers, homosexuals, fornicators, rapists, paedophiles, those practicing bestiality, sorcerers, magicians, idolaters. We ask them to repent and be born again; for Christ was pierced through for them, and died on the cross for them.

This reformation that the blood of Jesus brought to the Law of God, stopped the curses that were attached to some sins, and disobedience of the Law. As it is written: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone having been hanged on a tree”); so that the blessing of Abraham might be to the nations in Jesus Christ, and that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:13-14). On behalf of God, when we are in Christ Jesus, the curses contained in the Law, do not apply to us anymore. Yet if we act foolishly, we might suffer the consequences of our evil deeds, it is only sowing and reaping. Paul tells us: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap. For he sowing to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he sowing to the Spirit, will reap life everlasting, from the Spirit (Galatians 6:7-8).

I thank God for Jesus! Preachers or believers who are still preaching Phinehas and applauding his acts in Numbers 25 do not know the ways of God, and have no revelation of what Jesus has done for us by His death, burial and resurrection, according to the scriptures, like Paul taught us, everything that Jesus did on the cross was to fulfil scriptures that were against us (1Corinthians 15:1-4). Please, know the heart of God; understand the reformation the blood of Jesus brought to the Law of God. God winked or overlooked many things in the Old Testament that people did in His name, to defend His honour and His glory. But Jesus has explained to us what the true heart of God is, what His ways and His acts are.

My prayer is that the Lord will make His ways known unto each one of us; so that when we read the bible, we will understand why some things were allowed under the dispensation of the Law, and why some things are no longer allowed under the reformed dispensation of grace (Psalm 103:7). We have changed dispensation, or the way the household of God is being administered, has changed; if you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given to me toward you, that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I wrote before in a few words, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now revealed to His holy apostles and prophets, by the Spirit (Ephesians 3:2-5). We need to learn to minister grace to those hearing us, and learn to pray for them, even supplicate for them; because Jesus was pierced for all the abominable too (Ephesians 4:29, Zechariah 12:10). Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace (Hebrews 13:9).

Every religious zealot who goes about killing people who are not of his belief, is of the devil and is going to hell. That person needs to have the revelation of Jesus Christ and be born again. Jesus says: They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time comes, that whosoever kills you, will think that he does God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor Me (John 16:2-3). So be it the religious Jew who persecuted the Christians and killed them like Saul did, or the religious Christians who killed Jews and people of other religions, or Muslims who kill Christians and Jews, all of them think they are doing “god” a favour or doing “god” a service, by getting rid of those infidels! The truth is they all are going to hell, and they do not know the Father, God or Jesus. You see, religion is of the devil.

Jesus says about such religious people, who want to murder everybody, who do not agree with their religious system: you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it (John 8:44). Do not be deceived, we need to watch out for the signs of murder in our hearts, God’s standards are higher than ours, John says: everyone hating his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has everlasting life abiding in him (1John 3:15). We hate the sin of the people, because it is of the devil; but we so love the sinners. We must be able to dissociate the sinner from their sins.

When we talk about thrusting the spirit of harlotry through, or the spirit of Jezebel or of Balaam with the sword of the Spirit; we are not talking about physically thrusting any human through, but the evil spirit influencing them, for the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. Even Peter and the other apostles, having not yet understood the reformation to the Law of God the blood of Jesus would bring, misunderstood Jesus. When He told them, When I sent you without purse and wallet and sandals, did you lack anything? And they said, Nothing. And He said to them, But now, he who has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his wallet. And he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. For I say to you that this which is written, must still be accomplished in Me, “And he was reckoned among the transgressors”; for the things concerning Me have an end. And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And He said to them, It is enough (Luke 22:35-38).

They thought that Jesus was talking about a physical sword, so they brought Him two swords. Jesus was talking about the sword of the Spirit, even the word of God (Ephesians 6:17). One may ask: if Jesus is not talking about a physical sword; why is He asking them to sell their garment and buy one? Now let me tell you what God prophesied through Isaiah, saying: Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price (Isaiah 55:1). Now the waters are the waters of the word of God (Ephesians 5:26). The milk is the milk of the word of God that new born babies in Christ desire, so that they may grow thereby (1Peter 2:2). And the wine talks of the Spirit; how the word of God that initially was water that you fetched out of the well of Jacob, even the bible; to fill up our water pot of stone, even out heart; but when it comes out of our mouth those words become spirit and life. Please read the bible study on He kept the best wine for the end; and discover how spiritually water is turned into wine or our words become spirit and life, from the miracle of the marriage of Cana in John 2.

When Isaiah said buy that wine and milk without money and without price; we understand that freely we have received and freely we give including the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:7-8). But Isaiah is also telling us that you cannot put a price tag on that wine, even the spirit behind the word of God, to impart life, or on the milk of the word of God that will help you to grow into the measure of the full stature of Christ. So if you are privileged to know someone or some place you can find that milk of the word of God that will help you to grow into Christ, or that wine, even spirit filled teaching words that will impart the life of Christ to you; be ready to do anything to get it; for it is a priceless. That is why Jesus tells them: be even ready to sell your garment to buy that sword of the Spirit, even the word of God. For if you are equipped with the sword of the Spirit and taught how to use it; you will be able to fight the good fight of faith and come out victorious (1Timothy 6:12). Let no one misunderstand Gery; Jesus is not advocating merchandising the gospel! His house is a house of prayer for all nations, not a den of thieves (Isaiah 56:7, Matthew 21:13)!

Jesus was already dealing emotionally with what was about to happen to Him. He did not have the time to explain again to the apostles, that He did not mean the physical sword by the sword of the Spirit, even the word of God. So when they brought to Him two swords, He said to them: it is enough (Luke 22:38). He did not mean that these two physical swords are enough to defend ourselves against the soldiers who are coming to arrest me. It was in exasperation, which is a feeling of intense irritation and annoyance, He said to them: it is enough!

Just like when they could not cast out that epileptic demon from the little boy in Matthew 17. He was exasperated and said to them: O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to Me (Matthew 17:17). When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus in the garden, the apostles around Him, seeing what was about to occur, they said to Him, Lord, shall we strike with the sword? And one of them, Peter, struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear (Luke 22:49-50). Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up your sword into the sheath: the cup which My Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it (John 18:11)? Jesus realized that Peter totally missed it, and He had not explained to him plainly, that He was not talking about buying physical swords, or let alone using them; for if He did not want to be arrested, He could just command angels, and they would kill all the armies in Israel; He was going to the cross willingly to fulfil the perfect redemption plan of God. Therefore Jesus said unto him, Put up again your sword into its place: for all those who take the sword shall perish with the sword. Do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give Me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be (Matthew 26:52-54)?

Peter I have come to bring a reformation of the Law of God through the shedding of My blood. The dispensation of repaying evil for evil, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a life for a life is coming to an end, once I have gone through My passion. If I do not accept to go through that passion Peter, it will still be the dispensation of the Law, and all those who take the sword shall perish by the sword, all the abominable people shall still be thrust through with a spear like in Numbers 25 or stoned to death. But if I go through my passion, I will bring a reformation; even the dispensation of grace. So that people like Paul, who used to persecute the church, beating Christians up, who consented when Stephen was stoned to death; he will be able to obtain grace, and not be stoned to death, but receive eternal life. So that the woman caught in the very act of adultery in John 8, will not be stoned to death or thrust through like the law says, but will be convicted of sin and receive Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. Glory be to Jesus for His passion!

Of Jesus, our example, it is said: You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows (Hebrews 1:9). This is My commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:12-13). Jesus loves righteousness and hates sin, iniquity and trespasses; yet He so loved the world and the sinners in it, that He willingly laid down His life, to redeem whosoever among those sinners will repent of his or her evil ways, forsake them and put their faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, to be born again, by the blood of Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

The entire planet needs to be born again, for if they are not born again they have their portion in the lake of fire. He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers or sexually immoral (adulterers, fornicators, homosexuals, rapists, paedophiles, those practicing bestiality, sodomites, etc), and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Revelation 21:7-8). But if they repent and receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour they shall be saved.

But how do we overcome so that we do not go into that Lake burning with fire and brimstone? We already overcame 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ died on the cross, it was finished! It was because of His blood, as the Lamb of God, that takes way the sin of the world and the word of the testimony of what took place at Calvary, that we believed and invited Him into our life to be our Lord, God and Saviour (Revelation 12:11, John 1:29). You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you, is greater than he who is in the world (1John 4:4). Whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God [and has given his life to Him] (1John 5:4-5)?

2-17 Drunkenness

Drunkenness according to the Webster dictionary is intoxication; inebriation; a state in which a person is overwhelmed or overpowered with spirituous liquors, so that his reason is disordered, and he reels or staggers in walking. Drunkenness renders some persons stupid, others gay (the word gay here does not mean homosexual, but merry; airy; jovial; sportive. It denotes more life and animation than cheerful), others sullen, others furious.

Please read the bible study on “He kept the good wine for the end” and “David’s sexual sin exposed” to know what the bible says about alcohol. Paul tells us: do not be drunk with wine in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). People who are cowards drink to have boldness; but we Christians, our boldness comes by being filled with the Spirit of God, not with spirituous liquors. Some people are afraid of confronting people and telling them what they really think about them, so they wait until they are drunk to say things they do not like to that person. And when they are sober they say it was not them speaking, but it was the alcohol speaking through them. No, it was them; they meant every word, but they used wine as an excuse. Some preachers also have a fear of addressing crowds; the number one fear is public speech. No wonder the devil does not want us to share the gospel. So they drink to give themselves boldness to address the crowds. You need the Spirit of God, not a drink.

The Jews were allowed to drink wine in the bible, but were forbidden to drink strong alcohol. And some Christians would drink wine like the Jews and some other Christians would drink only grape juice. Drunkenness is sin according to the bible, and no drunkard shall inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10). Now Paul discusses the subject of food and drink in Romans 14. The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). It is good neither to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything which your brother or sister stumbles on, or is offended by, or made weak (Romans 14:20). You know that brother Gery is a strong minded person; and I have to be, because many people follow me the way I follow Jesus. Just know that no drunkard will inherit the kingdom of God, and strong alcohol is not for Jews or Christians. Now as for wine or grape juice; choose for yourself, Gery cannot choose for you. If you drink wine it is not sin, but if you are drunk it is sin, knowing that no drunkard has eternal life (1Corinthians 6:9-10).

Habakkuk says: Woe to him who gives his neighbour drink, pouring out your wineskin, and also making him drunk, that you may look on their nakedness! You are filled with shame instead of glory; drink also, and be seen as one uncircumcised! The cup of Jehovah’s right hand shall turn on you, and disgrace shall be your glory (Habakkuk 2:15-16). My friends there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes1:9). Alcohol and sexual immorality (adultery, fornication, rape, paedophilia, incest, etc) go hand in hand; because there is a demon behind drunkenness, it is the demon “Bacchus”. Now Bacchus is a Greek deity (or demon) of wine and revelling. When you are in pubs or nightclubs or in parties, men know that if they get the woman drunk, she will easily lie down with them.

Women also know it, but they play the game. The truth is the two parties know exactly what they are doing; no one is taking advantage of the other. When I was growing up, some of my cousins who were fornicators, knew it well, so they used to call alcohol “couragine”, which was to say: when you drink it you will be courageous, and be able to go and talk to a woman, or if you are a woman, you will have the courage to lie down with a total stranger for a one night stand. Just like quinine cures malaria, alcohol which they nicknamed “couragine” will cure your shyness and cowardice.

Woe to him or her who gives his or her neighbour drink, to uncover their nakedness, the Lord will fill such a person with shame, and expose them, and the cup of the Lord’s right hand will turn on such a person and disgrace shall be that person’s portion. The two daughters of Lot caused him to drink, so that he would be sexually aroused and lie down with them (Genesis 19:30-38). They committed incest; the story of many girls who have been sexually abused by their father, was because the father was a drunkard. The two daughters of Lot premeditated that incest, Lot knew what he was doing was bad, but he used that excuse of being under the influence of alcohol to do that incest, not once but twice.

The mother of King Lemuel gave him the secret of being a good king for his people. The words of King Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? And what, the son of my womb? And what, the son of my vows? Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes to lust for strong drink; lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to those who are of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more (Proverbs 31:1-7).

This prophecy of the mother of king Lemuel is the prophecy of scripture for all kings and queens, princes and princesses. The bible says about you and I who are born again: you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him, who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light (1Peter 2:9). Jesus Christ has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father (Revelation 1:6). Israel means prince with God, you and I who are born again are now part of Israel, we are princes and princesses with God. As it is written: Therefore remember that you, the nations, in time past were in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; and that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel (Prince with God), and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were once afar off, are made near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:11-13). For through Jesus we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God (Ephesians 2:18-19).

Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to those who are of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. You and I are born again, we are not perishing; for God so loved us, that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus, to die on the cross, so that we, who have received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). People who drink most of the time to forget their problems, drink their problem: they do not want to face their poverty, their misery, their guilt, their problem at work; so they drink it. You and I are Christians, we cast all our cares and anxiety upon Jesus, because he cares for us (1Peter 5:7). Whenever we labour and are heavy laden in our heart or physically, we come to Jesus and He gives us rest; we take His yoke upon us, and learn from Jesus how to deal with our problems; because Jesus is meek and lowly in heart, and we shall find rest to our souls. For Jesus’ yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). We certainly do not drink up our problems; because the moment we sober up, we remember all our problems.

I remember one of my uncles had a lot of children, he and his wife wanted to have the twelve disciples of Jesus. But he did not have money to feed all those mouths, and in the morning he needed to give the wife some money to go to the market to buy some food. So the days he did not have money, he left the house early in the morning before his wife was up, and in the evening he would come home drunk, so that no one would ask him for money to buy something to eat for the children. They would leave him alone saying: you cannot talk to him, he is drunk! He knew exactly what he was doing, and when he was drunk, he would curse his children; for they had impoverished him according to him. The truth is the children never asked to be born; he and his wife were the ones who decided to have the twelve disciples of Jesus!

Many married women also sank into drunkenness after their husbands committed adultery, or after they lost a pregnancy. Some people sink into drunkenness after they have lost their employment, or they have gone through a divorce. During the war in my country, many people sank into drunkenness because they lost their houses, their loved ones were killed, or raped. I know a man who sank into drunkenness because he slept with a girl of 14 years old when he was in his twenties, and got prosecuted for that; so he never forgave himself, so every night he could not sleep so he drank himself to sleep. Whatever the cause of a person sinking into drunkenness is, it is a spiritual thing, we need to cast out that devil of drunkenness call Bacchus. And then we need to lead the people to Christ Jesus, teach them the Word of God, and disciple them. There is no problem you are going through, that God cannot help you with, with man it might be impossible, but with God all things are possible. Drunkenness destroys the lives of many innocent children who are sexually abused by relatives, people who die in car accidents hit by a drunk driver.

So since you and I profess to be a royal priesthood and members to the household of God and of the commonwealth of Israel; the prophecy of the mother of King Lemuel applies to you and me. You are a king; you do not give your strength to women, and if you are a queen do not give your strength to men. It is not for kings or queens to drink wine, nor for princes and princesses to drink intoxicated drink. Why? Because God does not want them to be drunk, and forget what the written Word of God says, and to pervert justice of all the afflicted. The bible says: The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good (Proverbs15:3). A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes (Proverbs 20:8). You are a king or a queen and you are representing Jesus the King of kings. Being drunk is a sin!

Jesus says: why do you behold the mote that is in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the beam that is in your own eye? Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull out the mote out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye (Matthew 7:3-5). Jesus says: the prince of this world comes and he has nothing in Me (John 14:30). When Satan the prince of this world and his vassal demon Bacchus come, let them find nothing that is theirs in you! If you, as a Christian decide to be the type of Christian who drinks wine, know that you should not get drunk; for getting drunk is sin, and no drunkard has eternal life (1Corinthians 6:9-10)! If you, as a born again Christian, decide to only drink grape juice, God bless you!

Paul tells us: you who teach others, do you teach yourself (Romans 2:21)? Since we handle the word of truth, we should not be hypocrites; if you chose to drink wine, do not be drunk! Paul says: let us resolve not to put a stumbling block, or a cause to fall in our brother’s or sister’s way (Romans 14:13). Do not destroy with your drink the one for whom Christ died, by so doing you are no longer walking in love. The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Let us not destroy the work of God in people’s lives for the sake of drink; for God wants to restore people’s lives to deliver them from their alcohol addiction, and the demon Bacchus. We, who are strong, ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not please ourselves (Romans 15:1).

That is why some Christian denominations would choose to forbid alcohol altogether, and only allow grape juice, and other denominations will forbid strong alcohol, and only allow wine, for they follow what God allowed the Jews in the bible. Whatever you choose to follow, let not your heart condemn you, but if you choose to drink wine, you should not be drunk, for it is sin, and no drunkard has any inheritance in the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10). During the Welsh revival, taverns shut down; because people understood holiness, they could no longer be drinking alcohol. We need to go back to the standard of holiness of our forefathers in the faith. I, Gery, choose not to drink alcoholic beverages of any kind. I want all taverns, pubs, night clubs and breweries to go bankrupt, as in the days of the Welsh revival!

People tell me: I drink to be joyful and relax; I drink when I have a stressful day at work, just to relax at night, and forget what I am going through. Then I say to you: you are still carnal, and you cannot be in leadership or a discipler. James tells us: Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the Lord (James 5:13-14). James did not tell us: is any among you afflicted? Let him drink alcohol to relax and forget that night what he is being afflicted with. No, He said let him pray. Please read the bible study on “Abecedary of prayer”, the section of “praying through”. When Jesus was deeply distressed, in anguish and depressed; He did not take a bottle of wine to drink, and forget what he was going though. No, He “prayed through” for three hours in Matthew 26. He asked John, Peter and James to join Him in prayer too. James says: is any among you cheerful? Let him sing psalms and spiritual songs. He did not say take some wine and alcoholic beverages to celebrate! Let us be true disciples of Jesus and stand for what we believe!

When the disciples were flogged, at the instruction of the chief priests and elders of the Jews, for preaching the gospel in Acts 5; they did not go home and open bottles of wine to drink so that they would forget their misery. What did they do? Then indeed they departed from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be shamed for His name. And every day in the temple, and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching the gospel: Jesus Christ (Acts 5:41-42). When John and Peter were threatened by the rulers of the Jews to no longer preach and heal in the name of Jesus in Acts 4; they did not go home and open bottles of wine to drink so that they would forget their misery! What did they do? They went and gathered other believers “prayed through” about the threats. It is high time that our response to life threatening situations be scriptural and not carnal!

The bible says: and being let go, they went to their own company and reported what the chief priests and elders had said to them. And having heard, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord, You are the God who made the heaven and earth, and the sea, and all that is in them; who by the mouth of Your servant David has said, “Why did the nations rage and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.” For truly, against Your holy child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations, and the people of Israel, were gathered together in order to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings, and grant to Your servants, that with all boldness, they may speak Your Word, by stretching forth of Your hand for healing, and miracles, and wonders may be done by the name of Your holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness (Acts 4:23-31).

There is a spirit of conformity that is in the world, and many Christians have succumbed to it, they want to be like the world and they think by compromising a little they will reach out to the unsaved. It is a lie of the devil, what it shows is that you are ashamed of the gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation, of the soul, healing of the body, and deliverance from demonic oppression and possession (Romans 1:16). Let no one force you to drink strong alcohol or be drunk for it is sin; and if you choose to only drink grape juice let no other Christian force you to drink wine! Paul tells us: do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).

Just like behind drunkenness is the devil Bacchus; behind smoking and other drug addictions is also of the devil Bacchus. If God wanted mankind to smoke, He would have said it in the bible, just like alcohol destroys people’s lives with liver cancer and other complications, smoking also destroys people’s lives with lung cancer, thyroid cancer and other complications. Drugs also destroy people’s lives, they even destroy the life of foetuses in pregnant women, and children are born with deformities and other diseases. The devil comes but to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). So drinking, smoking and doing drugs are from the devil, even Bacchus. Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6:9-10).

So if you have an alcohol addiction, a nicotine addiction or a drug addiction, or you know someone who has any of these addictions, this is the moment for your freedom, lay hands on your head. And pray this prayer with me out loud:

Father I thank you because you have heard my heart cry for your mercy, to set me free from my addiction. I know that You are the only One who can set me free of all my addictions, and besides You, there is no one else. I thank You for sending Notorious Jesus into the world to set all the captives free, and who Jesus sets free, is free indeed (John 8:36). Jesus is the One who sets me free today, for I have been captive of these addictions for too long (Luke 4:18). Therefore I speak to you addictions: alcohol addiction, drug addiction, nicotine addiction and whatever addiction is in me, the Lord Jesus rebuke you (Jude1:9)! I command you in the name of Jesus to leave my body immediately and never come back. I curse you addictions in the name of Jesus, die! And I command all my organs that have been damaged by these addictions, to be recreated immediately, in the Name of Jesus! Thank you Jesus for setting me free of all my addictions and making all my organs perfectly whole, for by Your stripes I was made perfectly whole (1Peter 2:24, Matthew 14:36). In Jesus name, Amen!

Please read the bible study on David’s sexual sin exposed, the chapter IX: Becoming a disciple of Jesus, not a mere convert to Christianity. The saints in the days of the Welsh revival and Azusa Street revival, embraced Holiness teaching, which is the second work of the Holy Ghost, that is why they stopped drinking. They understood that every Christian must become a disciple of Jesus, and disciple another believer. And for you to become a disciple, you must be an example, not just in words, but more in deeds; you must walk in the same steps and same spirit the apostles walked in. (2Corinthians 12:18). You no longer live for yourself, but for Christ and for the sake of the people who are imitating you, as you are imitating Christ, you sanctify yourself, and decide to mature spiritually, no longer being carnal (John 17:16-20). All these My Weekly Milk are connected and that is why you must read them all, for we do not have to repeat the basic teaching in every bible study, but we move to perfection or maturity now (Colossians 4:16, Hebrews 6:1-6).

2-18 Revelling or carousing

Revel according to the Webster dictionary is to feast with loose and clamorous merriment; to carouse; to act the bacchanalian (Bacchanalian is from Bacchus the Greek deity (or demon) of wine and revelling, a bacchanalian is one who indulges in drunken revels; a drunkard; one who is noisy and riotous, when intoxicated). A feast with loose and noisy jollity. Some men ruin the fabric of their bodies by incessant revels.

So you see people who like drinking parties are under the influence of a demon, even Bacchus. They will drink and become noisy and riotous. People who like going to pubs, who like going to night clubs, when they do not go to a pub or a night club they feel like they are going through a withdrawal like a junky goes through a withdrawal. It is a demon. I, Gery, was there I know how it feels. I used to be in pubs and in night clubs from Tuesday to Sunday morning, on Monday when the pubs and night clubs were closed I was going through withdrawal. Thank God that I was delivered from that demon Bacchus. I was really in bondage. The bible says the wages of sin is death; but I tell you the path of sin is bondage, captivity and enslavement!

For the bible says: for when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they lure through the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lust, the ones who were escaping from those who live in error; promising them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of corruption. For by whom anyone has been overcome, even to this one he has been enslaved (2Peter 2:18-19). So the world promises you fun, liberty, you can enjoy yourself; but the truth is you are in bondage and you cry out for help, and you sink deeper in the miry clay, that is under your feet in that spiritual dungeon where the devil has cast you in, a close prison; or a deep, dark place of confinement. Jeremiah was cast into one of those dungeons, it was a pit with no water in it so that you die of thirst even spiritual thirst, there was only mud in that dungeon or a pit and Jeremiah was sinking into that mud (Jeremiah 38:5-6). You will die slowly in that pit and sink in the mud that is the picture of what revelling does in the life of people.

Thank God, Ebed-melech the Ethiopian eunuch pleaded the cause of Jeremiah and let down a rope in that dungeon to lift him out of the pit (Jeremiah 38:7-13). You need help my friend to get out of that dark prison where you are, for no reveller will enter the kingdom of God they will all go to hell. Revelry starts by only drinking and then you start smoking, and then you start using drugs. It is that demon Bacchus that is behind all that. You are always looking for new ways to party loosely. I started to drink first of all, and after I was smoking. Thank God I was delivered from that demon; many of my friends went on to use drugs. That devil is always driving you to get high. Sexual immoralities also work hand in hand with the drinking, smoking and drugs.

Just like Jeremiah needed Ebed-melech, which means servant of the King, to lift him out of that dungeon; you need a servant of King Jesus to lift you out of that dungeon when you are born again by making king Jesus Lord over your life. As David says: I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings (Psalm 40:1-2). And He has put a new song in my mouth (not the songs of the pubs and nightclub that glorify the devil and his evil works), but even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD (Psalm 40:3).

Peter encourages us who are now born again and who used to live in sin, saying: for we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the gentiles or heathens nation; when we walked in lewdness or lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine or drunkenness, drinking parties, carousing or revelries, and abominable idolatries. In these things they are surprised or find it strange, that you are not running with them into the same flood of dissipation or excess of riot, blaspheming or speaking evil of you. But they shall give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead (1Peter 4:3-5).

So why is it that after we are born again, some among us are still running with the heathens in the same flood of dissipation? This ought not to be so; Peter is not saying that you should not have a party. You can organize your birthday party; you can celebrate an occasion with friends: a baby dedication, a graduation, and you must celebrate your marriage and dance for it is the second greatest day of your life after the day you were born again, which is The Greatest day of your life. Christians are moderate in everything they do, you can listen to secular songs but you need to read the lyrics whether they are worshiping the devil and are full of lust or it is just a nice song about life, love, etc. Not all secular music or movies are from the devil, you need to read the content and if it is glorifying the devil and his works, you know it is not for you. The truth is when you are born again, you will have fewer desires for secular songs but you will be singing unto the Lord; because the Lord has put a new song in your mouth, even the praise of our Lord (Psalm 40:3)!

2-19 Sodomites: homosexual & bisexual

The homosexual is one who is attracted by the same gender and lie dawn carnally with a person of the same gender. Male homosexual are called in our century gays and female homosexual are called lesbians. A bisexual is a person who has a sexual attraction and lies down with both genders. A sodomite is a person who practices sodomy or anal sex whether he is a male or a female it does not make any difference. It is from the city of Sodom the inhabitants of Sodom were called Sodomites. In Genesis 19, two angels came to visit the city of Sodom and they lodged in the house of righteous Lot. The men of Sodom, the Sodomites, wanted to lie down with the two angels. As it is written: before Lot, his wife, his two daughters and the two angels who visited him lay down; the men of the city of Sodom both old and young, all the people from every quarter surrounded the house of Lot. They called to Lot and said to him: where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally (Genesis 19:4-5).

Homosexuality is not a biological thing it is a demon inside a person, it is because people have rejected the knowledge of God that is why the devil took advantage of them to commit that abomination in the sight of God. Paul tells us: they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause, God gave them up to dishonorable affections. For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another; males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was fitting for their error.

And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them (Romans 1:25-32).

They will try to explain it through science and nature that it is their hormones that are biologically attracting them to the same gender, and even in nature there are some beasts which are homosexual and they take pictures of those beasts which are copulating with other beasts of the same gender. Thus they justify their homosexuality. Yes it is a spirit of the beast that is in them, Satan is the beast described in the book of Revelation. He has deceived them through what is falsely called science, that it was right for them and natural for them to be homosexuals.

It is because they have rejected God and His knowledge that God has given them to a reprobate mind, to do those things. We know the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them. So if you are a Christian and you are condoning sin, even taking pleasure in those who are practicing sin, not just homosexuality but any other sin, you are sharing in their sin. If you do not have a reprobate mind you will agree with Jesus who says: from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife. And the two of them shall be one flesh. So then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man put apart (Mark 10:6-9). So God did not make join them male and male or female and female; God’s marriage is male and female, Adam and Eve; not Adam and Steve, or Anne and Eve; But Adam and Eve!

The city of Sodom was destroyed in Genesis 19; homosexuality was just the effects of the fact that they have rejected God and the knowledge of God. Pride was found in Sodom, being proud according to the Word of God is to reject God and His Word to go serve idols and walk contrary to the written Word of God. Ezekiel says: Behold, all who use proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As the mother, so is her daughter. You are your mother’s daughter, who despises her husband and her sons. And you are the sister of your sisters, who despise their husbands and their sons. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. And your older sister is Samaria, she and her daughters who dwell at your left hand.

And your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters. Yet you have not walked according to their ways, nor done according to their hateful deeds; but, as if it were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they were in all your ways. As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, Sodom your sister, she nor her daughters, has not done as you have done, you and your daughters. Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom; pride. Fullness of bread and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters. Nor did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and did abominable things before Me, so I turned away as I saw fit (Ezekiel 16:44-50).

So homosexuality is deeply embedded in idol worship, which is of the devil. In the Old Testament homosexuals were sometimes called sons or children of Belial which means worthless people, persons without a yoke, who have thrown off the yoke of God’s law, and will not submit to it, or unprofitable ones, as wicked men are, both to God, themselves, and others. And sometimes they were even in the congregation of Israel like today we have people professing to be Christians and yet they are homosexuals. Moses said these sons or children of Belial are not truly from Israel, likewise today they are not born again Christians because they do not obey the Word of God.

Moses said: Men, the children of Belial, have gone out from among you and have drawn away those who live in their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, then you shall inquire and make search, and ask carefully. And behold, if it is true, and the thing is certain, that such an abomination is done among you, you shall surely strike those who live in that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it completely, and all that is in it, and all the cattle of it, with the edge of the sword (Deuteronomy 13:13-15). So those children of Belial are serving other gods which are demon not Jehovah, even today someone who professes to be a Christian and is a homosexual has not Jesus in his or her life but a demon. He or she must be born again!

In the book of Judges 19, there were sons of Belial among the tribe of Benjamin; they wanted to rape the young Levite who was in the house of an old man in their city. The old man brought the Levite into his house and mixed fodder for the asses. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank. They were making their hearts merry. And, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, set upon the house all around and beat at the door and spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring out the man that came to your house so that we may know him. And the man, the master of the house, went out to them and said to them, No, my brothers, I pray you, do not do evil, since this man has come into my house. Do not do this foolish sin (Judges 19:21-23). Yes homosexuality is evil and it is a foolish sin embedded in idol worship. When you read Judges 20, the other tribes of Israel came to war against Benjamin to destroy all the sons of Belial and those who approved of them by refusing to correct them.

But in the New Testament we do not go about killing people no matter what their sin is as we have explained in the section on “murders” of the works of the flesh. Otherwise we would be also murdering all adulterers, all fornicators; not just homosexuals, all who practice sexual immoralities, will go to hell not just homosexual but also fornicators, adulterers, paedophiles, sodomites, rapists, those practicing bestiality. They all need to be born again and forsake their evil ways and foolish sins.

In the days of the reign of Rehoboam the son of Solomon, Judah did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and they provoked Him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done. For they also built high places for themselves, and images, and Asherahs, on every high hill and under every green tree. And also the sodomites were in the land. They did according to all the hateful things of the nations which Jehovah cast out before the sons of Israel (1kings 14:22-24). Now a high place is the place of worship, Judah made places of worship for themselves not for Jehovah, the places of worship they built were to their images or idols and their Asherahs. Now Asherah is a Phoenician goddess and the image or statue of that goddess. And in those places of worship of their idols and of the Phoenician goddess Asherah they had sodomites. Now the word translated sodomite here is the Hebrew word “qadesh” which signifies a perverted man or woman who practices sodomy and prostitution as a religious ritual to worship those idols. So when you went to that high place of idol they had male homosexuals and you needed to lie with them to worship that idol.

In the days of king Josiah’s reign over Judah, the king sent. And they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem. And the king went up into the house of Jehovah. And all the men of Judah and all the people of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the prophets, and all the people, from the small even to the great. And he read all the Words of the Book of the covenant which was found in the house of Jehovah in their ears. And the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before Jehovah, to walk after Jehovah and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the Words of this covenant which was written in this Book. And all the people stood to the covenant. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring forth out of the temple of Jehovah all the vessels which were made for Baal, and for the Asherah, and for all the host of heaven. And he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Bethel.

And he put down the idol-worshiping priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places around Jerusalem. He also put down those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of the heavens. And he brought out the Asherah from the house of Jehovah outside Jerusalem, to the torrent Kidron, and burned it at the torrent Kidron, and stamped it to powder, and threw the powder of it on the graves of the sons of the people. And he broke down the houses of the sodomites, which were by the house of Jehovah, where the women wove coverings for the Asherah (2Kings 23:1-7).

The word sodomites here is the Hebrew word qadeshim” which is the plural of “qadesh”. So in the days of Josiah, in the temple that Solomon built for the Lord, idols were found there, priest of idols were found there and they were worshiping idols inside the temple of God. They were having male and female homosexuals, who were practicing sodomy inside the temple of the Lord. It was only when the king read the written Word of God that he realized that their practice was not of the Lord but of demon. So he put those priests of idols out of the temple of God, he also removed their idols out of the temple of God and burnt those idols out of the city of Jerusalem. Homosexuality and sodomy is deeply embedded in idol worship; it is a demon that is behind it. Unfortunately even today in churches we have people who profess to be Christians but are sodomites or homosexuals or live in sexual immoralities. They need to read their bible like King Josiah did, and repent of their sins and make a covenant with God not to worship those demons any more. Those sodomites were also bisexual for as the oracle of the idol dictated they would either lie with a priest or with a priestess.

If you are or you know someone who is a homosexual, a bisexual or a sodomite today is your day to be set free of that evil and foolish sin, you will be made free of that demon, even the sodomite spirit. Please lay your hand on your head and pray this prayer out loud with me. Father I thank you because today I have known the truth that being a sodomite is of the devil, I repent of my evil and foolish sin, cleanse me in the blood of Jesus and make me as white as snow, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me, no longer the sodomite spirit but the Holy Spirit of God (Psalm 51:10). Cleanse my conscience from dead works, even from being a sodomite by the blood of the Lamb to serve You, the living God acceptably, according to Your written Word like Josiah determined to serve You (Hebrews 9:14). Now I speak to you sodomite spirit, the Lord Jesus rebuke you (Jude 1:9)! I curse you in the name of Jesus Christ. I command you to leave my body immediately and never return in the name of Jesus! The Lord Jesus has made me free and I am free indeed from being enslaved by the sodomite spirit (John 8:36). Thank you Jesus for healing me because by your stripes I was healed (1Peter 2:24). I bless you Father God for giving me a new start in life, I will never be the same again, and my life is transformed to serve You acceptably, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

2-20 Abusers, thieves & robbers, revilers, extortioners

The abuser is one who abuses in speech or in behaviour, one that deceives, a ravisher (One that takes by violence, One that forces a woman to his carnal embrace or rapist); a sodomite. About abuses in speech Paul tells us: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: but you be kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you (Ephesians 4:29-32). Many Christians have a foul mouth: they are always cursing; they are always using words like: “fuck”, “what the hell”, “what the heck”, “lucky”, etc. Now luck and lucky is from the word Lucifer the name of Satan, Christians are not lucky but they are blessed. Whenever Christians use foul languages it grieves the Holy Ghost.

The thief & the robber; the thief is one who secretly, unlawfully and feloniously takes the goods or personal property of another. The thief takes the property of another privately; the robber by open force. Jesus likens Satan and his false prophets to thieves, saying: The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus likens also Satan and his false prophets to robbers saying: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He who enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber (John 10:1).

Now to steal is to take and carry away feloniously, as the personal goods of another. To constitute stealing or theft, the taking must be felonious, that is, with an intent to take what belongs to another, and without his consent. Even when we steal things which belong to our relatives or parents it is sin. You shall not steal (Exodus 20:15). Paul tells us: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him Labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him who needs (Ephesians 4:27-28). Read the bible study of biblical prosperity also to avoid the common financial manipulations in religious circles.

A reviler is one who reviles another; one who treats another with contemptuous language. Now to revile someone is to reproach; to treat with opprobrious and contemptuous language. You shall not revile God, nor curse the ruler of your people (Exodus 22:28). When people revile us Jesus tells us how we should respond: Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad. Why? Because your reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Matthew 5:11-12).

When Jesus was crucified, two thieves were crucified with Him, one off the right, one off the left. And those who passed by reviled Jesus, wagging their heads, and saying, You destroying the temple and building it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross. And in the same way also the chief priests mocked, with the scribes and elders, saying, He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. (For He said, I am the Son of God.) And also the thieves who were crucified with Him reviled Him, saying the same (Matthew 27:38-44).

An extortioner is one who practices extortion. Extortion is the act of extorting; the act or practice of wresting anything from a person by force, duress, menaces, authority, or by any undue exercise of power; illegal exaction; illegal compulsion to pay money, or to do some other act. Extortion is an offence punishable at common law. No extortioner will enter the kingdom of God.

2. The fruit of the Spirit

Paul lists for us the fruits of the spirit and the works of the flesh. The fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth (Ephesians 5:9). Meaning you are only wishing good things to happen to your neighbours no evil at all, you personally are practicing righteousness certainly not lawlessness and you want everybody around you to practice righteousness as it is written: If you know that God is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of God (1John 2:29). You want people to know the truth so that they will be made free (John 8:32). You want them to know Jesus and follow Jesus as you personally are following Jesus; for He is the way, the truth and the life and nobody can come to God the Father except though Him (John 14:6). You want them to be separated from the corruption of this world and be holy unto the Lord as they become doers of the written word of God; for the written Word of God is the truth (John 17:17).

As we read all these bible studies: what God has done for us and who God is in us; we need to do the same thing to people around us. Many people fail to grasp it: the way God relates with us is the way He wants us to relate with our neighbours. The way God treats us is the ways He wants us to treat our neighbours. The way God loves us is the ways God wants us to love our neighbours. The way God heals us is the way He wants us to go heal people around us in the name of Jesus Christ. Whatever or whoever God is for us; it is what and who He wants us to be to people around us. Paul tells us: be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ (1Corinthians 11:1).

Brothers and sisters, be imitators together of me, and mark those who walk this way, for you have us for a pattern (Philippians 3:17). Therefore be followers of God, as dear children (Ephesians 5:1). So then as we have time, let us work good toward all, especially toward those of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10). Peter tells us: And who is the one who will harm you if you become imitators of the good (1Peter 3:13)? John tells us: Beloved, do not imitate the bad, but the good. He who does good is from God, but he who does evil has not seen God (3John 1:11).

If you notice Paul says: the fruit of the Spirit not the fruits of the Spirit; because it is only one fruit which has different aspects or manifestations. Jesus is in you and He is not divided He is one. God wants us to grow into Christ Jesus not just to grow in Christ. We are already in Christ Jesus the moment we became born again, our life is hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). God wants us now to grow into Christ Jesus, to become like Him to be able to represent Jesus faithfully among people. Paul explains to us that it is the reason God gave the fivefold ministry to teach us who God is in us and how He wants us to imitate Him as dear children of God and grow up to become like His only begotten Son Jesus who perfectly imitated God the Father.

Therefore He says, “When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.” (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is the same also as He who ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) And truly He gave some to be apostles, and some to be prophets, and some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. And this until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; so that we no longer may be infants, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, in the dishonesty of men, in cunning craftiness, to the wiles of deceit. But that you, speaking the truth in love, may in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, even Christ (Ephesians 4:8-15).

So the purpose of all those bible studies is not to give you head knowledge about the letters; for the letter kills but the Spirit makes alive; but to make you grow up into Christ (2Corinthians 3:6). Jesus and His words are one: the words that I speak to you are Spirit and life (John 6:63). So the prayer is that as you read these bible studies, the Spirit of the Lord behind the letters stirs up your heart to become doers of what you have learned. And the more you become doers of the Word of God you know the more people will see the fruit of the Spirit in you; because you become Christ like. There are people who have all the knowledge of the letters of the Word of God; they can quote them off head but they are doers of none of them. Yet, there are people who know only few letters and cannot even quote them accurately but are doers of the little they know and people will see more of Christ likeness in the latter than in the former.

Paul tells us: the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law. But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25). All those aspects or manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit are in you; because Christ Jesus is in you, God is in you and the Holy Spirit is in you. What you and I need is to have the knowledge of what God says about us, the knowledge of God and become doers of the knowledge of what God says about us and become imitators of God like dear sons and daughters of His. Let us succinctly talk about the aspects or manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit that Paul lists.

3 -1 Love

Paul starts with love because he knows that everything in the Kingdom of God is about love. If we do not have the revelation of the Love, even the unconditional love, that God has for us; we will never be able to love ourselves and love the people around us the way God wants us to. It is not the love that we have for God; but the love that God has for us. We have known and believed the love that God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love. We love Him because He first loved us (1John 4:16-19). The one who does not love has not known God. For God is love (1John 4:8). God does not have love but He is love, and He dwells in you; thus you always have love in you at all times, even the unconditional love of God.

I was reading my bible in one of my dialects and my eyes fell on the scripture which says in the English version: follow after, pursue and press toward the agape love of God, which is the unconditional love of God, and desire spiritual gifts (1Corinthians 14:1). In the version of the bible I was reading in one of my dialects; the translators deemed that if they translated follow after love, it would be a weak translation and it would not convey the weight of what God means. So when I read that word, the Holy Ghost gave me a vision in my head. I saw lots of balloons with a small gift attached at the end of each balloon. The balloons were falling from heaven, and children were on the ground. The red balloons had attached to their end a particular gift that all the children wanted to have. So the children were all jumping to try to get a red balloon before it landed on the ground. There was not a single red balloon that landed on the ground: the children jumped to get them before they could land on the ground. The other balloons with their gifts attached at the end all landed on the ground, and the children picked them up from the ground.

Your see, in the Heart of God He wants His children to be jumping like those children to get that red balloon with its gift of the Love of God. All the other gifts will be added unto us; all the nine gifts of the spirit and every other gift of God will be added unto us. And we can pick them up from the ground floor. But sometimes Christians are jumping to catch other gifts of God; that red balloon and the gift of the Love of God attached to it lands on the ground. They do not even bother to pick it up from the floor. They do not value that gift of the Love of God. My prayer is that we will all be jumping like those children to catch that red balloon of the gift of the Love of God, and all the other balloons with their gifts we will just pick them up from the ground.

The entire series on the “Perfect Redemption Plan” and the “Application of the Perfect Redemption Plan” have only one purpose: that you may know and believe the unconditional love that God has for you. He did it all. And He decided to pour out that same unconditional love or Agape Love in our heart when we received the Holy Ghost on the day we became born again (Romans 5:5). Why were the balloons which had the gift of Love red? Red talks about the blood, and Jesus had to shed His blood to the last drop and die so that you can receive the Love of God! No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). That Agape love of God has no hidden agenda but to seek the good of the people around us, even to the point of death. We have known the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers (1John 3:16). For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

One will with difficulty die for a righteous one, yet perhaps one would even dare to die for a good one. But God demonstrated His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:7-8). What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things (Romans 8:31-32)? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, “For Your sake we are killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep of slaughter.” But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39).

Paul had the revelation of the Agape love or unconditional love that God had for him, so did all the disciples of Jesus. If you do not know about that unconditional love that God has for you and believe it; faith will be difficult for you. Please learn the Perfect Redemption Plan and the Application of the Perfect Redemption Plan of God and go do likewise. God has already poured out that unconditional love in your heart (Romans 5:5). Never say: I find it hard to love such person! It is the lie of the devil our enemy; you already have that love for that person in your heart.

Paul tells us: Knowledge puffs up, but love (Agape love) edifies (builds up, repairs, embolden, constructs) (1Corinthians 8:1). The God who is love dwells in you the more you know about how much Your Father loves you and how He demonstrated His Agape love toward you, the more embolden you are to serve Him and do exploits for Him, the more you want to build His kingdom because it has become a family business since you are His son now; the more you want to get your life together and stop practicing sin; because you do not want to grieve Him because you know how much He loves you. Fear only works for a moment then it vanishes away, but love is the most powerful driving force on earth. Men went to war against all odds, being greatly outnumbered by their enemies; because they needed to defend their children and their wives. Abraham went to fight five kings and their military troops to deliver his nephew Lot (Genesis 14). God fights for us; because He loves us, we are called by His name, we are His sons and daughters; we are members of His household. Since the Agape Love of God is in us; we should be building up, edifying and emboldening people around us too; for we are representing the God who is Love.

Paul says: though I have prophecies, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to move mountains, and do not have Love (Agape Love), I am nothing (1Corinthians 13:2). The truth is people do not care how knowledgeable you are in the Word of God; for there are many theologians who have doctorates in religious studies and can quote better the scriptures than you and I can do. Even if you have all the prophecies and the interpretation of dreams and visions, you know all the mysteries of the kingdom of God, all the types and shadows of Christ in the bible, and you can move mountains by your faith. People will come to you only when they are in need and after their need is met they will leave you.

People want to know how much you love them and care for them. The reason why we keep coming back to God is because He told us that He cares about us and He cares for us; so we can cast all our cares upon Him (1Peter 5:7). God so loves us that is why we come to Him and we share our burdens with Him. If we are rude to people even when we minister healing or teach them the Word of God or give them a prophecy; they will not come often and if they find someone else who genuinely loves them and ministers to them, they will no longer come back to you. God is love, Agape love; but He has power and He performs miracles. The same thing applies to us: we are children of God and we are for sign and wonders like our elder brother Jesus (Isaiah 8:18). Yet, the first thing people must be attracted to us is the unconditional love of God in us and we extend toward the people around us. We must be known as people of love, before being known for all the signs and wonders that follow us: healing the sick, casting out devils, raising the dead, etc. Just like Jesus told us: by this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love (Agape love) one to another (John 13:35).

Some people have been deceived by the devil that they do not need the power of God but only the Love of God. You are love like your Father who dwells in you is love, and you have power to heal all manners of sickness and all manners of disease, to cast out all demons and to raise the dead at will; because the Father has anointed you with the Holy Ghost and power so that you can go about doing good and healing all who are oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). Healing the sick, casting out devils and raising the dead are demonstration for the people of how much God, who is love, loves them; that He does not want to see them suffering in the hand of the devil. But He wants them to be delivered from the pit of hell and healed of all their diseases and all their sicknesses. Show people how much God, who is love, loves them by your words of edification and by setting them free from hell fire when you minister salvation unto them. Also set them free of the oppression of the devil; because it is in the power of your hand to do so: lay hands on the sick and they shall be healed (Mark 16:17).

Paul continues his discourse and says: though I give out all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, and have not Love (agape love), it profits me nothing (1Corinthaisn 13:3). We need to read the bible study on biblical prosperity to know what the acceptable way to give to the Lord is. Sometimes we give to impress people around us, sometimes we give to humiliate a brother or sister. We know that the brother cannot afford a thing so after we have given him help, we go and tell everybody how irresponsible that person is, that he cannot even provide for his own family. No, brother and sister, when we help people we must not humiliate them or try to keep them indebted to us for life! But we must set them free. God sees our motives, people may see our acts of giving or our sacrifices; but God knows out thoughts and the intents of our heart. Let it be all about love, not having a hidden agenda when we help people or give. Otherwise we will only have the praise from men but no reward from God,

Paul continues and says: love (agape love) suffers long or is long suffering or is patient, is kind; Love (agape love) is not envious, is not vain or vaunt (make a vain display of one’s own worth), is not puffed up; does not behave indecently, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil. Love (agape love) does not rejoice in unrighteousness or iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love (agape love) never fails (1Corinthians 13:4-8). Love covers all sins (Proverbs 10:12).

This is who we are for love is in us. Now faith, hope, Love (agape love), these three remain or abide; but the greatest of these is love (agape love) (1Corinthians 13:13). The unconditional love of God or agape love of God is the greatest of the three. We must study it and walk in it; but faith and hope also remain or abide along side with love until Jesus will return. So the hope of our salvation remains or abides and the faith to move mountains, perform mighty signs and wonders in the name of Jesus and to demonstrate the manifestations of the Spirit and the power of God also remains or abides in you. Let no one deceive you: love, hope and faith all abide in you. It is our responsibility to learn to flow in them as we have explained in these series of the perfect redemption plan and the application of the perfect redemption plan.

On the 29th of December 2012 at 6 AM, I was standing at the bus station in Glasgow, Scotland, and the Lord spoke to me saying: “go about your life not worrying about rules and yet keeping only one rule, the golden rule: you shall love one another as Christ Jesus unconditionally loves you”. If a person does not know how much Jesus loves him or her and what Jesus has done to demonstrate His unconditional love for him or her, he or she will not be able to love himself or herself the way Jesus loves him or her; and he or she will not be able to love his or her neighbour as Jesus loves him or her.

A person can only give who he or she is, not merely what he or she has; for the word must become flesh in that person first of all. For instance God is Love, therefore He gives His love to everybody; God is light, therefore He gives His light to those who become born again; God is resurrection and the life, therefore He raises the dead and gives life to everyone who comes to Him; and all the redemptive names of God we have studied in the Perfect Redemption Plan of God, are who God is and that is why He gives who He is to us not just what He has. God dwells in us and who He is that is who He wants us to be. He wants His words to become flesh in us, so that we may all grow into Christ so that as Jesus is so we are in the world.

I went to visit a friend of mine with his wife and child, for three years they had been my friends, I visited them often. That night I had come from Scotland to Manchester, England and I was very tired and had a cold. But I told my friend that I was coming to see him and the family that Sunday evening. I was not willing to go there but the Lord reminded me that God performs His word because he is righteous (Nehemiah 9:8). So since God dwells in me and imputed His righteousness to me, I must perform my word. Thus I went to see them, I stayed there for four hours and they dropped me home. And on the way home my friend told me: “I know you are truly our family friend; because we have observed you. You always come to our house; you eat whatever we set before you and many times I say to my wife that I feel bad; because we never visit you. It is as if it is a one way friendship. Many people would have been offended and just stop relating with us because we do not relate with you the way you relate with us. We do not reciprocate your friendship!”

You see I did my best to I treat my friend and his family the way God treats me. Many times I do not reciprocate the love or the friendship God bestows on me; yet He is not offended. He does not stop relating with me. God does not treat us according to our transgressions (Psalm 103:10). He did and still does what is right even though we are not responding accordingly. That night I repented because I was not willing to go to my friend, and I did not want to perform my word because of the way my friend had been relating to me. Thank God that I went that night at my friend’s. Love is active not passive, God demonstrated His love toward us, and we must also demonstrate the same love to the people around us. After Abraham demonstrated his reverent fear and love toward God by offering Isaac on the altar, the Lord said to him: now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son from Me (Genesis 22:12).

My prayer is that we all will become who God is in us; for the people around us. So that not only God but also the people around us will be able to say: now I know that you truly have a reverent fear of God, that you truly love God, that you truly love us because you have demonstrated it by your actions and not only with your words; for faith without works or actions is worthless and useless to the people around us and to God (James 2:20). You see, acting on the word of God does not mean that your feelings will not get in the way. You can be tired, you can be frustrated, you can be angry; for you are human; yet the good news is: God is at work in you both to give you the willingness to act on His word according to the power of the Holy Ghost that is at work in you (Philippians 2:13). Walking in the spirit is simply acting on the written Word of God, and whenever you are acting on the written Word of God you are walking in the agape love of God. You will still have your feelings and emotions but you will no longer be ruled by them as you become a doer of the word of God.

Around 5 AM on June 22nd 2015, I had a vision. In that vision my two brothers were being pressured by people around them to fight this neighbour. That neighbour was saying all kinds of evil things about them and was taunting them, saying they were cowards if they did not come and fight him physically after all the things he had said against them. And I came where my two brothers were. I explained to them that we just need to love that person. So the day the physical fight was supposed to go down; my brothers and I walked toward that neighbour and I started to tell him how much we love him and how much God so loves him. He started to scream he could not stand the love of God that we were showing him; he fled the scene. I could see the demon that was in him, pushing him to fight us and that demon could not stand the love of God. The devil cannot stand love, he is full of hatred.

I remember in 2014 a guy from Czech Republic was sent to me from a different ministry. He wanted to learn on healing. That ministry where he came from were looking for techniques to heal people instead of having a relationship with the Godhead. The focus became healing instead of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When Jesus sent His disciples he said to them: preach repent for the kingdom of God is at hand, then heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead and cleanse the lepers; or start by demonstrating how much God loves them through Christ Jesus by healing them, casting out their demons, raising their dead, cleansing the lepers and then ask them to repent for the kingdom of God is at hand (Matthew 10:7-8, Luke 9:1-2, Luke 10:9). That ministry was not even bothering preaching the gospel they were more and more just looking for techniques to heal the sick and cast out devil; they did not address the sinful life or the unsanctified life of their ministers.

When that man from Czech Republic came to me I told him I preach the full gospel of Jesus Christ not just healing. He brought many sick people to me, and by the grace of God they were healed in the name of Jesus Christ. He brought financial problems to me and in the name of Jesus they were cancelled. But when I started to address sin and living a life of holiness to be able to flow in the anointing of the Holy Ghost, he would be very angry and call me religious and twisting scriptures. He and the group of people he belonged to rejected the Old Testament and rejected even the writings of Jesus. After about six months he even said that I was casting out devils and healing the sick by Beelzebub. I refused to revile back, and told him I could not be working with him again.

I was offended and wounded also; but six months later he texted me again. I had deleted his number, so that I will not be tempted to call him and retaliate or send him scriptures to retaliate. Sometimes we can also use scriptures to retaliate against people; we should not do that; I have told him the truth in love and I have also told the leaders of the ministry who sent him to me the same truth in love; that they were heading the wrong way and were on a dangerous path. So when I received the text message; I called back immediately. And he picked up; he was so amazed that I called back after the way he insulted me loudly in the city centre of Manchester in front of all the people passing by. I talked to him for about one hour.

I explained to him that there is forgiveness in Christianity, Jesus commanded us to always forgive if we want to receive the forgiveness of our Father in heaven (Luke 11:4). Please read the bible study on Abecedary of Prayer. He had another problem and last time I prayed for a similar problem he received his miracle. So I prayed for Him with all my heart. I was not angry with him at all, I had compassion for him; he saw how he had been greatly deceived. The reason why He came back to me is because of the love of God that I demonstrated toward him. Even when he reviled me publicly I did not revile back; I did not fight him.

I left a door open for him to come back one day if he ever wanted to have a true relationship with the Godhead and not just looking for techniques to heal the sick or cast out devils. John says: that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ (1John 1:3). John was not teaching them techniques but how to have true fellowship with the Godhead. I remember God telling me, on the first week of June 2015, after I finished talking with that brother: wounds heal! Yes indeed, wounds heal; God healed my wound and I could minister with compassion to the guy who reviled me and said I was casting out devils by Beelzebub.

I was discussing with a friend of mine, who had been in ministry for years. And we were analyzing what happened to some ministers. One minister in USA was when another minister was going through sexual scandal in his personal life; attacked him violently in the media. Of course we do not condone sexual immoralities in any minister or in any disciple of Jesus. We need to address the sin and openly state our disapproval of the sin; but we must extend love and mercy to the disciple of Jesus or to the minister. So that there is room of repentance and a time of restoration in the fellowship as Paul explained to the church of Corinth. And as to restoration to ministerial duty; only God can do that; even after we have submitted to the leadership and counsel of other minister for restoration; but God is the only one who can truly restore a person’s life and a person into the ministry.

That minister used to have stadiums filled when he sent to Latin America for his crusades. But now after His restoration, many people in his church left some stayed with him; and when he goes to Latin America he is not able to fill any stadium but a room with couple of hundreds of people. Sexual immorality is one of the deadliest weapons of the devil against ministers of the gospel. Sexual immorality, financial scandal and heresy are the tree weapons of the devil against ministers of the gospel; please always pray for your minister of the gospel that he or she will not fall into any of them.

That American preacher that did not extend mercy to his fellow minister, who fell into sexual immorality, but criticized him over and over; later in his ministry he also fell into a sexual immorality. And we also analyzed two ministers of the gospel in Nigeria who are rivals like the Two American Televangelists we mentioned. One use to have a marital problem; and his rival used to make fun of him and attack him because his marriage was not stable. They used to use the local media and secular media to attack each other. Couples of years later the Nigerian gospel minister who used to attack his rival minister on the aspect of marriage; began to experience the same problems in his own marriage and his filed for divorce.

And we sat there with my friend and the word of the Lord came to us, saying: they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7). Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap. For he sowing to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he sowing to the Spirit will reap life everlasting from the Spirit (Galatians 6:7-8). For he who has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). First of all, ministers of the gospel should never be rivals, they are in the flesh; the devil is the one behind you causing you to compete with each other. The kingdom of God is not in competition but it is complementary.

If you have bitter jealousy and strife in your hearts, do not glory and lie against the truth. This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife are, there is confusion and every foul deed. But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (James 3:14-18). So those ministers did not show mercy when their fellow ministers were being attacked by the devil; with their attack they sowed for themselves the wind so they have reaped the whirlwind.

Paul tells us: Brothers, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you the spiritual ones restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the Law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, being nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one prove his own work, and then he alone will have a boast in himself, and not in another. For each one will bear his own load (Galatians 6:1-5). We should correct our brothers and sister who are overtaken in a fault, a heresy, a sexual scandal or a financial scandal; and we should restore them to the faith as they repent of their fault and forsake it. That correction and restoration must be done in meekness and we should consider ourselves that we are not better than they it is only the grace of God that has kept us from falling. On the contrary we ought to pray for them and for ourselves that we will not fall into trap of the enemy.

Apart from the Agape love of God or unconditional love of God, we also have the love for family members which is called storge love; the love that one has for a friend which is called phileo love; finally we have the sexual love that husband and wife have for each other which is called eros love; and epithumeo love or lust. The storge love or family love is very important to God because marriage is the first institution God ordained in the Garden of Eden. God wants us to have a good family, a family where members love each other; they do not try to kill each others like Cain did Abel (Genesis 4). They do not try to cheat and deceive each other like Jacob did Esau (Genesis 27). But they truly care for each other and only seek the good of the other members of the family. They relate well with each other. They do not envy, hate, curse and slander each other; but they bless and rejoice for each other’s success and prosperity.

Rebekah had a good relationship with her relatives, they were so happy for her when she got married, they blessed her with all their hearts before sending her to Isaac her husband. As it is written: they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, Our sister, be the mother of thousands of millions, and let your seed possess the gate of those who hate them. And Rebekah rose up, and her young women and they rode upon the camels and followed the man. And the servant took Rebekah and went his way (Genesis 24:60-61). There are people who do not even talk to their parents, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters, cousins, nephews, grandparents. There is no family love or storge love in that family. No matter what people have done to us we must be able to forgive them. If they have tried to murder us, we must do our best to forgive them and still relate with them. I shared the example of my mother’s relatives who shot her with a gun but God delivered her so that the bullets missed her. We no longer go to their place because we know their hatred toward us; but when we meet in the streets we talk.

Rebekah had such a good family relationship with her people; that when her elder son Esau wanted to murder the younger son Jacob, she sent Jacob to her father’s house. She said to Jacob: now my son, obey my voice; arise, flee to my brother Laban in Haran. And stay with him a few days, until your brother’s fury turns away (Genesis 27:43-44). No matter what had happened we should try to forgive and be reconciled with our family members. Esau found a place in his heart to forgive his brother Jacob. When Jacob came back from Laban’s house: Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him and they wept. And he lifted up his eyes and saw the women and children of Jacob and said: who are these with you, Jacob? So Jacob said to Esau: they are the children whom God has graciously given your servant (Genesis 33:4-5).

Whenever I read this part of reconciliation of Esau and Jacob I have tears in my eyes, for Joy that God has restored the family love between these two brothers. I tell you, Esau had become a prince and had conquered the mountains of Seir, killed the giants that lived there, and had obtained many riches and many servants. But what does profit a man if he wins even conquers the whole world but loses his soul and even the people of his household? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul or to restore the love in his family and with his family members (Matthew 16:26)?

Jesus tells us: where you treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). Some people have the wrong priorities in life. They treasure money more than their family, ministry more than family, career more than family, sport more than family. The Godhead: Father, Son and Spirit, must be first in our relationship. Second in the order of priorities must be our spouse when we are married (1Corinthians 7:32-40). The third priority must be our children, they should not come before the spouse because they will soon leave the parents’ home to form their own home (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31). The fourth priority must be providing for our family; for he who cannot provide for his own household is worse that an infidel (1Timothy 5:8). And the fifth priority is ministry and church activities. My prayer is that we will all get your priorities right in life!

Moses also had a good family relationship with his in-laws and especially with his father-in-law. He was working for his father-in-law as a shepherd, and there was not deception on behalf of Jethro. Laban on the other hand deceived Jacob and cheated him many times. Laban was a bad father-in-law to Jacob. Jacob testified against Laban to his daughters, saying: your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me (Genesis 31:7).

But Jethro was good to Moses (Exodus 2:15-25; Exodus 3:1). When Moses wanted to go visit his people in Egypt, Jethro blessed him: Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt and see if they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace (Exodus 4:18). But Jacob had to run away from his father-in-law Laban, Laban hunted him down to kill him (Genesis 31). It is not God when your in-laws are always fighting you that you even have to run away for your life. When there is a good family relationship; you are free to visit your parents; your wife or your in-laws should never forbid you to visit you parents. Ruth said to Naomi: your people shall be my people (Ruth 1:16). And your wife also should be visiting her in-law, vice versa.

When God had delivered the Hebrew from Egypt and they were in the wilderness, Jethro brought Moses’ wife and sons to him in the wilderness. So it means when Moses was away in Egypt Jethro took care of Moses’ wife and children. When you have good relationship with your in-laws they will even babysit for you, or lodge you for a period of time until you are back on your feet. The children can go on holiday to their grandparents; or you can all go on holidays: the parents, grandparents and children.

When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, that Jehovah had brought Israel out of Egypt, then Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back, and her two sons, of which the name of the one was Gershom (for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land), and the name of the other was Eliezer (for the God of my father, my help, delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.) And Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness, where he camped at the mount of God. And he said to Moses, I, your father-in-law Jethro, have come to you, and your wife and her two sons with her. And Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed down to him, and kissed him.

And they asked each other of their welfare. And they came into the tent. And Moses told his father-in-law all that Jehovah had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how Jehovah delivered them. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which Jehovah had done to Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. And Jethro said, Blessed be Jehovah, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians (Exodus 18:1-10).

You see Moses ran to meet his father-in-law, of course he wanted to see his wife and his sons; but the bible says he ran to meet Jethro, to tell you the love that Moses had for his father-in-law. They kissed, and asked each other of their welfare. Moses spent time talking to his father-in-law about everything that happened to him and all his adventures in God. Jethro rejoiced with him. When you have a good relationship with your in-laws you will talk to your father-in-law, your mother-in-law at length about everything and you will rejoice together. I know sometimes there is a language barrier in some cases. Jethro was black and so was Moses’ wife Zipporah, many in Israel did not like the skin colour of Jethro and Zipporah, and even the elder brother of Moses Aaron and his elder sister Mirian did not like Zipporah because she was black. Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the black woman whom he had taken. For he had taken a Cushite woman or Ethiopian woman (Numbers 12:1). But Moses did not care what the skin colour of his in-laws or of his wife was, neither did Jethro care about what the skin colour of Moses and his people was.

Ruth also had a good relationship with her mother-in-law Naomi. Ruth said to her mother-in-law Naomi: entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me (Ruth 1:16-17). Yes, Ruth was from Moab and Naomi from Israel. But by being married into the family of Naomi, Ruth genuinely loved also the Israelites, she saw herself like an Israelite though she was from Moab.

If you cannot lodge in the house of your in-laws, something is wrong; there is a bad relationship. You must feel at home in the house of your parents-in-law. Some people think that they only married the man or the woman, and when they say I do on the day of the wedding it is only to each other until death parts the two of them. The truth is you also say I do to the family of each other until death parts the two families, your family becomes his family and his family becomes your family.

When Rebekah came to Isaac, Isaac brought her to the tent of his mother Sarah and he took Rebekah and she became his wife. And he loved her (Genesis 24:67). Of course Isaac had his own tent he was a forty years old man when he married Rabekah; but he brought her to his mother’s tent to signify that my people are now your people, where my mother lodges, is where you will lodge. I share my place of birth, the good and bad moments of my life with you. I bring you where it all started so that you know where I came from. I tell you the story of my whole life. You know the nakedness of my childhood and now see the nakedness of my manhood.

I hide nothing from you and I am transparent about my past life and my present life. I disclose everything to you: my moments of shame and my moments of glory and honour; because I trust you with my life that you will not betray me nor condemn me for my mistakes of the past. As the bible says: And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed (Genesis 2:23-25). In the book of Songs of Solomon the Shulamite also brings her beloved in her mother’s house even in the chamber where she was born. As it is written: scarcely I have passed by the watchmen when I found the one I love, I held him and would not let him go, until I had brought him to the house of my mother, and into the chamber or room of her [my mother] who conceived me (Songs 3:4).

So you see, it was not just man who brought his bride in the chamber where he was conceived by his mother; but woman also brought her bridegroom in the room where she was conceived. My people becomes your people, you have access to all the family secrets I hide nothing from you; my mother is your mother, my father is your father, my brothers are your brothers and my sisters are your sisters. As you read your bible you will see examples of saints relating with their family members, sons, daughters, wife, husband, and in-laws. Take the good example and apply them with your family and in-laws, study the bad ones and purpose never to reproduce them in your life. All the bible studies we have are to tell us how the Godhead loves us and treats us, we are married to the resurrected Christ and Israel is married to God. Therefore treat and love each other in your home the way the Godhead treats us.

The friendship kind of love of Phileo love is very important. In John 21, when Jesus meets His disciples who went fishing. He asked Peter three times do you love Me? The first time and the second time Jesus as asking Peter do you agape love Me or do you unconditionally love Me? Peter knew that he did not love Jesus unconditionally so he answered both times: I love You like a friend or I phileo love You. The third time Jesus questioned even if Peter loved Him like a friend or phileo loved Him. That is why Peter was grieved and said: You know all things, you know that I love you like a friend or I phileo love you (John 21:17). The standards of friendship are different in the kingdom of God. Please read the bible study of The heart of a son or daughter who is serving his Father and who is his or her Father’s friend, to know what friendship is like in the kingdom of God and go do likewise.

There is no hidden agenda in friendship; whether we are poor or rich it does not matter, the friendship is still on. Either we are in power or we are removed from power the friendship is still on. A friend sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). A friend loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17). The friendship between Jonathan and David was at all times, even when Saul wanted to kill David, Jonathan remained friend with David. Saul was Jonathan’s father; but the hatred and personal issues that Saul had against David; never affected the true friendship that Jonathan had for David. Even in Church some people who call themselves your friend; when they discover that the pastor has a problem against you. They do not want to associate with you in church for they do not want to offend the pastor.

When they are talking to you, immediately they see the pastor’s wife; they walk away. They call you on the phone to talk to you for hours about their problem so that you can pray for them; but in church they will never greet you not stand and talk to you for they do not want people to know that they associate with you. My friends these people are not your friends! Jonathan did not do that to David. The bible tells us: Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said to him, You son of a perverse, rebellious woman, do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own confusion, and to the shame of your mother’s nakedness? For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. And now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die.

And Jonathan answered Saul his father and said to him, Why shall he be killed? What has he done? And Saul threw a spear at him to strike him, and by this Jonathan knew that his father was determined to kill David. And Jonathan rose from the table in fierce anger, and did not eat food on the second day of the new moon. For he was grieved for David, because his father had put him to shame (1Samuel 20:30-34). Jonathan was no longer in the favour of Saul because of His friendship with David. His own father wanted to kill him because of his friendship with David. Someone who is ashamed to associate with you in public and professes to be your friend is not your friend! You are his friend but he is not your friend for he does not reciprocate your friendship.

Christians who are ashamed of Jesus and His words in public are not reciprocating His friendship. And Jesus tells them: whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels (Luke 9:26). Jonathan was ready to lose his life at the hand of his father Saul over his friendship for David. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant does not know what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you (John 15:13-15).

If your friend is wrong you must tell him that he is wrong and you must tell the people around you that you know that your friend is wrong. Yet you so love your friend that you continue to talk some truth in love into his life so that he can repent. When Jesus says: you are My friends if you do whatever I command you; this only applies to our friendship with Jesus Christ; because He is always true, never wrong. Some people will tell you: if you are my friend you will support me in whatever I decide to do. This is only true if what you have decided to do is right. In marriage some couples have that wrong understanding; they will say to their spouse: you are supposed to back me up, to support me in whatever I do or say for you are my spouse!

So if that spouse is a quarrelsome person he or she expects her or his spouse not to talk to the people he or she is quarreling with. So that is why in some churches when the pastor’s wife is a quarrelsome person, or an insecure person; church members do not chit chat in the church with other church members who the pastor’s wife does not approve of. And the husband since he has the wrong understanding of what it means to support his wife. He thinks that because it is his wife, he must do everything she dictates, or vice versa if she is the pastor in charge. He ignores the counsel of the scriptures and the counsel of all the other associate pastors taken during to meeting; to implement the counsel of his wife, vice versa if it is the wife that is the pastor in charge.

He belittles the other pastors’ counsel and the counsel of the scriptures. And when things go awry he calls a meeting of all the pastors. And He tells them: what we decided to do is not working. But the other pastors know that what was implemented was not what they concluded at the meeting. So though they pray together but there is no agreement; this is not a prayer of agreement! There is now hypocrisy in the church. People will tell each other; do not bother advising the pastor or making contribution during the leadership meeting, even if God is the one who told you that message; for after the meeting he will only do what his wife tells him. Many pastor’s wife have high jacked the church of God; for when their husband do not implement their suggestions they are very angry and there is not peace at home. So for the sake of the peace at home the husband does whatever the wife suggests for the church. This is a jezebel spirit, she is manipulative and the man has a Ahab spirit.

If you want bring your wife also in the meeting of leaders and let all decision be taken openly; if she has a contribution to make let everybody in leadership hear it and judge it like they judge every other thing that is done in the church, according to the word of God. And let the Church pray over all those decision and decide by the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures which contributions should be implemented in the church and which one should not. After that meeting the pastor should not implement something else it is an insult to the other leaders and to the Holy Spirit; for there has been hypocrisy. You never intended to implement any advice of your leadership which line up with the Holy Scriptures. May God help our churches that the Ahab and Jezebel spirits will not take over the church.

David was a shepherd boy who had nothing to offer to a prince like Jonathan. If someone is getting close to you because of what you can do for him; he is not your genuine friend! The moment you will lose that position of power he will no longer be around you. If we decide to walk in the agape love of God, friendship kind of love will flow naturally, for agape love is greater than phileo love and storge love. Jesus says: No one has greater love than this that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). Jonathan exhibited Agape love when he was ready to die at the hand of his father Saul over the friendship he had with David.

Let us read again what Jesus tells us: No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you (John 15:13-16). First of all according to Jesus when you are friend with someone, that person will be willing to lay down his life for you. Jesus said He is our friend and He demonstrated it by laying down His life for us. Let us repeat it again, that kind of friendship and loyalty is only to Jesus that we do it. Yes for Jesus people have been martyred. People have been imprisoned and have not denied Jesus. People have been fired from their place of work because they preached the gospel and yet they have not denied Jesus. They have truly reciprocated the friendship that Jesus has toward them. They did whatever Jesus commanded them!

Now if you have a friend and he is doing what is wrong or sinful according to the written word of God; do not follow him nor condone what he or she is doing; but tell him or her the truth in love and pray for him or her. If a person bails out on you when you are in trouble, and only comes back when you are prosperous that person is not your friend. Second, a friend share secrets with you and confide in you. Jesus says: I have called you friends, for all things. Even if you have a close friend, only tell all things about you and your life to Jesus. Yes, you can confide in your friend, yet your outside friend must not know about you more than your spouse. Your spouse must be, after Jesus, your best friend. Even your pastor or the person who disciples you should not know more about you than your spouse.

Even when there has been adultery; you confess it to God and to the minister of the gospel or your disciples to be able to help you through it and you must also confess it to your spouse according to the scriptures. I talked to some couples who were on the verge of divorce. A man told me: my wife does not support me in my decisions. So I made some financial investments. I called my pastor and he prayed for me about them. Weeks later I told my wife and she was angry. That pastor should not have prayed for you; he should have told you: have you told your spouse about those investments? There must be total transparency in couples; finance is the number one cause of divorce worldwide and adultery is only the second cause of divorce.

Another man told me; when his sister-in-law, who was not married, was pregnant she would call him and he would go with him at the clinic to have the abortion. She aborted three pregnancies. He never told his wife what was going on; for he swore to his sister-in-law not to tell her sister, his wife. When his wife got to know what had happened it destroyed the trust in their couple and she wanted a divorce. I told him he must be born again. Read the bible study on David’s sexual sin exposed. You cannot not be best friend with you sister-in-law and be holding her hand while she is having the abortions. The wife accused him of being the father of those children his sister aborted; even if he denies it. It is his word against the word of his wife.

He went to see a pastor who instead of pointing them to the Holy Scriptures asked them to solve the things traditionally. So the parents of the wife fined him £500 for the abortion, which he paid. If He was not the father of those children that were aborted why did he pay the £500 fine? That pastor should have called the sister-in-law and the man with his wife and confront them according to Matthew 18:15-17 which says: if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear you, take one or two more with you, so that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax-collector (Matthew 18:15-17).

By paying the £500 fine he had indirectly admitted that he was the father of those children the sister-in-law aborted. No wonder Jesus says: you have made the Word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have delivered. And you do many such things (Mark 7:13). As far as Jesus is concerned I should consider that pastor who suggested that counsel, that brother and his sister-in-law as unsaved people; for they do not even consider those abortions as murder. This has destroyed the trust that the wife once had in him. I told them you must be born again all of you; that is the first step and then we will resolve everything according to the written word of God, not according to the traditions of men.

Third Jesus tells us; you are the one who must choose your friend. Nobody should impose a friendship on you. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you. Some people come and advise me: I want you to get close to this person and befriend him, he will truly help you. They are trying to choose friends for me. And they were getting angry when I did not call the person they wanted me to befriend. Solomon says: the righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray (Proverbs 12:26).

I am not saying that those people they introduce to me are wicked people! Not at all, on the contrary they are godly people who fear the Lord and I greatly respect them and their life in ministry. But I do not feel comfortable confiding in them. I have friends who are of the age of my parents or even of my grandparents; godly people who give me advices that line up with the written word of God. Some of them God divinely connected us, others I chose them because I respected them and felt comfortable confiding in them. Friendship is never forced upon but chosen. I believe according to the scriptures friendship like Agape Love should be without hypocrisy or dissimulation (Romans 12:9).

The other kind of love is eros love or the sexual love between husband and wife. God is the one who created sex, not the devil; the devil perverted it. In the Garden of Eden God placed Adam and Eve, they were naked and they were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25). Eden means pleasure, so God placed Adam and Eve in the garden of pleasure. God gives us richly all things to enjoy, including our spouse (1Timothy 6:17). There is romance in eros love, as we can see it in the life of Isaac and Rebekah. As it is written; now it came to pass, when Isaac had been in the land of the philistines a long time, that Abimelech the king of the philistines looked through a window and saw and there was Isaac showing endearment to Rebekah his wife or caressing Rebekah his wife or playing with Rebekah his wife. The Abimelech called Isaac and said: quite obviously she is your wife, so how could you say that she is your sister? Isaac said to him: because I said, lest I die on account of her (Genesis 26:8-9).

So imitate Isaac in his love towards Rebekah, you cannot compare storge love with eros love. The love that you have for your sister and the love you have for your wife. The love you have for your brother and the love you have for your husband. If you start romancing your brother or your sister people will be so angry because you are acting inappropriately, it is incest. There are Christians who do not know that they are acting inappropriately toward some Christian sisters. They are not married to them but they are caressing, or showing endearment in public to a sister. This ought not to be. Paul says: this I speak for your own profit, not that I may cast a snare on you, but for that which is right, and that you may attend on the Lord without distraction. But if anyone thinks it behaving himself indecently toward his virgin (if she is past her prime, and so it ought to be) let him do what he will; he does not sin; let them marry (1Corinthians 7:35-36).

If you are acting indecently toward a sister or a brother, your conscience will be accusing you and your heart will be condemning you (Romans 2:15, 1John 3:19-21). And we know that if our heart condemns us and our conscience accuses us we no longer have confidence when we pray to receive from the Lord whatever we ask Him (1John 5:14-15). The devil bombards our conscience with accusations; for he is the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). As we saw in the bible study on “The Power of Confession”; the devil is after our confidence, so that we will not get our prayers answered and sick people will die, people will stay in bondage to the devil.

That is why Paul tells us: this I speak for your own profit, not that I may cast a snare on you, but for that which is right, and that you may attend on the Lord without distraction. What you are doing is not evil per se; but it has an appearance of evil! The devil wants to distract us with his accusations and condemnations so that we will be ineffective in healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out devils, cleansing lepers. Paul advises us: Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1Thessalonians 5:21-23).

When you read the book of Songs of Solomon you will see how the Shulamite plays with her beloved, see how they talk to each other. Read that book to see how God is romantic and apply it in your marriage. See how Father Jacob knew how to cook; the lentils that he cooked were so tasty that Esau sold his birth right over that stew (Genesis 25:29-34). Jesus himself also was a great cook, in John 21, when the disciples went fishing; He was at the shore broiling fish for the disciples (John 21:9-10). Learn from Jesus and Father Jacob!

The last form of love is epithumeo love or lust, lust is of the devil. Jesus says: I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28). It is what pushes people to commit all sexual immoralities: adultery, fornication, incest, paedophilia, homosexuality, rape, etc. It is the devil that is behind lust. The devil has been deceiving people that lust is eros love. No, God is the most romantic person, if you want romance in your marriage study the bible. All the sins committed in lust send a person in hell, so why should anybody want to have lust in his or her life?

It is deadly, James explains it, saying: Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one. But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death (James 1:13-15). So lust is not God putting that in the heart of anyone but the devil. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). We know what commands we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication, adultery and all sexual immoralities, each one of you to know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour (not in the passion of lust, even as the nations who do not know God) (1Thessalonians 4:2-5). Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).

3-2 Joy

Now the definition of joy according to the Webster dictionary is the passion or emotion excited by the acquisition or expectation of good; that excitement of pleasurable feelings which is caused by success, the gratification of desire or some good possessed, or by a rational prospect of possessing what we love or desire; gladness; exultation; exhilaration of spirits.

God did not promise us that we will be happy all the time, but we will have the joy of the Lord all the time, for the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). The enemy wants to take away the joy from our life, but the truth is, we always have the Joy of the Lord, since the Lord dwells in us. The kingdom of God that we have received is: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Behold, the kingdom of God is inside you (Luke 17:21). So Joy, peace and righteousness are inside you. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

As we have seen in the definition of joy, it is that passion or emotion excited by the acquisition or the expectation of good, that something good will happen to me. The good thing that happened to us is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus; which freely gave us the perfect redemption plan of God. And because of that death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, we have a covenant with Jesus, that what He promised in our testament, will come to pass in our life. If people are ignorant of the perfect redemption plan of God and the application of the perfect redemption plan of God, it will be difficult for them to be joyful. And if we have the knowledge of the perfect redemption plan of God and the application of the perfect redemption plan of God, but we refuse to believe it and act on it; then it will be hard for us to have the manifestations of those promises in our life.

3.3 Peace

The Webster dictionary defines peace as being: a state of quiet, or tranquillity; freedom from disturbance or agitation; applicable to society, to individuals, or to the temper of the mind. What many people do not understand is that according to the bible, and the bible is our only standard, peace does not mean the absence of conflict or war. When we read Judges 6 where the Lord revealed Himself to Gideon as Jehovah Shalom, or the Lord is my peace, God was not calling Gideon to tranquillity, but to war. God wanted Gideon to go and fight the Midianites who were oppressing Israel, and deliver Israel from their oppression. Jesus says: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

Yes there can be war around you, yet you are sleeping, you have no fear in you. There can be a great storm around you, and the boat is being filled with water; yet you have peace and can sleep like Jesus did when He was in the boat with the disciples (Mark 4:36-41). For you to be at peace in your heart in the midst of the chaos around you; you must know and believe what God said about you, and the situation around you. It is crucial to know the perfect redemption plan of God, and the application of the perfect redemption plan.

All the heroes of faith listed in Hebrews 11 were able to stand against great adversity, because they had a word from the Lord, because they knew what God had done in the past, they believed it, and stood against all odds. Whenever you are going through a situation, never say that you do not have peace. It is a lie from the devil. You always have peace, you need to receive it and embrace it. Not the peace of the world, but the peace of Jesus. The kingdom of God that we have received is: righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Behold, the kingdom of God is inside you (Luke 17:21). So that Joy, that peace and that righteousness are inside you. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). Please agree with the written Word of God not with your feelings; for we walk by faith and not by sight, nor by physical senses, nor by emotions (2Corinthians 5:7).

Now the Hebrew word for peace is shalom, which means safe, well, happy, friendly, welfare, health, prosperity, peace, favour, soundness, wholeness, nothing missing, nothing broken, restoration. Righteousness, joy and peace must work together in the life of a believer. For if a person is not born again God has not yet imputed His righteousness unto him, so the promises contained in the perfect redemption plan of God and the application, are not his, but the moment the person is born again, God imputes His righteousness, and makes him heir of those promises of the perfect redemption plan of God and its application. The Lord puts Joy in that person’s heart, so that as he discovers what has been freely given to him, he is expectant that it will come to pass in his life. And he has peace about it, though all around him things are not yet lining up with the promises of the bible. But He knows that God will restore everything, God will prosper him, God will heal him, etc.

For the things we see are temporal, and subject to change, but the things we do not see yet are eternal (2Corinthians 4:18). Our Jehovah Shalom: the Lord is our peace, promised us saying: I will restore to you the years which the swarming locust has eaten, the locust larvae, and the stripping locust, and the cutting locust, My great army which I sent among you. And you shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of Jehovah your God, who has dealt with you wonderfully; and My people shall never be ashamed. And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Jehovah your God, and no one else; and My people shall never be ashamed (Joel 2:25-27).

Since we always have the peace of God that surpasses human understanding, which guards our heart in accordance with Philippians 4:7; we ought to live at peace with people around us whenever it is possible. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify one another (Romans 14:19). We are not to be fighting people, fighting is a work of the flesh. Follow peace with all men and holiness; which is to have the mind of Christ and imitate Christ, so that we are no longer acting like the heathens, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

God has called us to peace so we ought to extend that peace to people around us (1Corinthians 7:15). We should not be the one to start a fight, and no matter how people are fighting us, we should never fight back, as it is written: Great peace have those who love Your law: and nothing shall offend them or cause them to stumble (Psalm 119:165). The secret of having great peace no matter what, is to abide in the Word of God, so that you know how God expects you to respond to every situation coming your way.

3-4 Long-suffering

Webster dictionary defines long-suffering as bearing injuries or provocation for a long time; patient; not easily provoked. Just like we have seen that God is love (1John 4:8), God is also long-suffering. The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression (Numbers 14:18). Since the Lord is Long-suffering and He dwells in you, therefore you are also long-suffering. Do not believe the report of the devil that tells you: you are not long-suffering but are easily provoked, short tempered, easily angered, you easily explode in anger and insult everybody, fight with everybody. You may feel that way, but God who dwells in you is long-suffering, and He has imputed His nature to you; for the old you who was impatient, easily angered, easily provoked was crucified on the cross, and was buried with Christ Jesus, and the new you, the new creature in Christ Jesus, has nothing of the world, but all things in you are of God (2Corinthians 5:17-18).

As you read the bible from Genesis to Revelation see how God bore the injuries and hurts of the unfaithfulness of Israel His wife. See how many times they departed from Him to serve idols, and yet when they came back to Him and repented; He forgave their iniquities, and their transgressions, and healed all their diseases; then He did not deal with them according to their transgressions (Psalm 103). An illustration of long-suffering is in forgiving people who transgressed against you. Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Until seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, until seven times; but, until seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22). So be long-suffering toward people around you, for God also is long-suffering towards you.

3-5 Kindness

Now kindness or loving-kindness according to the Webster dictionary is good will; benevolence; that temper or disposition which delights in contributing to the happiness of others, which is exercised cheerfully in gratifying their wishes, supplying their wants or alleviating their distresses; benignity of nature. Kindness ever accompanies love. If you go and act on the bible studies on the perfect redemption plan, application of the perfect redemption plan and the biblical prosperity, people around you will notice your loving kindness.

Jehovah will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, my prayer to the God of my life (Psalm 42:8). His merciful kindness is great toward us; and the truth of Jehovah endures forever. Praise Jehovah (Psalm 117:2)! God commands His loving kindness toward us day and night, thus we ought to do the same to people around us. Do not be kind to people according to the world, but according to the Word of God. Read your bible and learn all the bible studies – My Weekly Milk; then go and relate that way with people around you, and you will be lovingly kind according to God’s standard.

3-6 Goodness

Goodness is the state of being good; the physical qualities which constitute value, excellence or perfection according to the Webster dictionary. Christians ought to be good, not just to fellow Christians, but even to unbelievers. Jesus tells us: You have heard that it was said, “You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.” But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax-collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax-collectors do so? Therefore be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:43-48).

Paul tells us: Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap. For he sowing to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he sowing to the Spirit will reap life everlasting from the Spirit. But we should not lose heart in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint. So then as we have time, let us work good toward all, especially toward those of the household of faith (Galatians 6:7-10). Though we prioritize those of the household of faith, we should not forget to do good to unsaved people. Please read the bible study of Biblical Prosperity to discover how you can do good, even financially, to your relatives, widows, orphans, strangers and ministers of the gospel.

The golden rule of how to be good to people is just to do unto them as you want them to do to you. Jesus tells us: all things, whatever you desire that men should do to you, do even so to them; for this is the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 7:12). If you were a tax-collector, a prostitute, a widow, an orphan, a stranger, a homeless person, a single mother, how would you want born again Christians to treat you in line with the written word of God? Discover how God and Jesus treat people in the bible, and go and treat them likewise. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7). Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart (Psalm 73:1). And the Lord said, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy (Exodus 33:19).

When people see the goodness of the Lord we extend toward them, the mercy of the Lord that we show toward them; it softens their heart to receive the God whom we serve. For they say within themselves: if the people who serve this God show such goodness toward me, definitely their God will show more goodness toward me. All the miracles that God performs through us for the unsaved people, is to show them His goodness and eventually lead them to repentance. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men (Psalm 107:15)! Paul tells us: it is the goodness of the Lord that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4). Some Christians portray the meanness instead of the goodness of God in their life, and their sharing of the gospel. The gospel means good news! God is good and He does good! Always portray that goodness of the Lord in your lifestyle, and in your sharing of the gospel.

3-7 Faith

Here Paul is not talking about the faith that we have all received, but the faith that is coupled with actions, and people around us can see what our belief is, like James explained. My brothers, what profit is it if a man says he has faith and does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and if one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but you do not give them those things which are needful to the body, what good is it? Even so, if it does not have works, faith is dead or useless, being by itself. But someone will say, you have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith from my works. You believe that there is one God, you do well; even the demons believe and tremble. But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Do you see how faith worked with his works, and from the works faith was made complete? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God (James 2:14-23).”

So in other words, if you say you have faith about something in the word of God, you will speak it out, and then you will act on it. Paul says: we, having the same Spirit of faith (according as it is written, “I believed, and therefore I have spoken”); we also believed and therefore speak (2Corinthians 4:13). So Paul tells us: since he professed to have the same faith like the saints of old, he also spoke like them. If you and I profess to have the same faith the disciples of Jesus had, we will speak like them, act like them and people around us will see our faith. If we profess to be born again, that we have received the imputed righteousness of God, we need to practice righteousness, we need to perform the words that proceed out of our mouth; for God performs His words because He is righteous (Nehemiah 9:8).

So if we profess to believe in divine healing, we must lay hands on the sick in the name of Jesus, so that they can be healed, we must cast out devils, cleanse lepers and raise the dead at will. For that has been our confession, by acting on our confession, people will see our faith. Jesus said to us: If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not (John 10:37). So by professing that God is His Father, He needed to do the works of His Father and to say the same things His Father was saying. As the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life within Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man (John 5:26-27). So Jesus exhibited the aspect of the fruit of the Spirit called faith, it was not empty words, but it was coupled with actions. Learn to act on the Word of God you read, and then people around you will see the fruit of the Spirit of faith in you. You will heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead at will, and practice righteousness in the name of Jesus.

3-8 Meekness or Gentleness

Meekness according to the Webster dictionary is softness of temper; mildness; gentleness; forbearance under injuries and provocations. In an evangelical sense, humility; resignation; submission to God’s will, without murmuring or peevishness; opposed to pride, arrogance and refractoriness. Meekness is not weakness; but power under control; Moses was full of power by the Spirit of the Lord; yet he did not use it for his own selfish interest or against the people because they provoked him.

The bible says: now the man Moses was very meek, more than all the men on the face of the earth (Numbers 12:13). Stop confusing meekness for weakness. No, meekness is not being weak and is not false humility either imposed by man-made religion. Moses was the meekest man on earth in his days, but he was certainly not weak. He was submitted to the will of God without murmuring contrary to the people who were constantly murmuring and complaining in their tents (Exodus 16:7). People can be doing the will of God, going where God sent them; yet in their heart they are murmuring and complaining against God; such was the case of Jonah whom God sent to Nineveh. I have to confess that sometimes I do what God tells me but I murmur and complain against Him. I need to work on meekness according to the Word of God.

We have seen what the definition of pride and humility were according to the word of God not according to man-made religion. Whenever we do the word of God we are humble, and whenever we do our own will and reject the instructions of the word of God we are proud. So meekness is submitting to the will of God without complaining and murmuring against Him. God, who searches the heart, knows what was in the heart of Moses when he was obeying God. A murmur is a complaint half suppressed, or uttered in a low, muttering voice.

You, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness (1Timothy 6:11). The servant of the Lord must not strive, but to be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those who oppose, if perhaps God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, and that they awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one (2Timothy 2:24-26). Who is wise and knowing among you? Let him show his works by his good conduct with meekness of wisdom (James 3:13). Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice! Let your moderation or gentleness or meekness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand (Philippians 4:4-5). We are to present the gospel to people in a gentle way; we are not to force people. We tell people the truth even if they do not like the sound of it, but we never become rude to them; for the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 3:17).

Moses who was the meekest man on earth in his day was not weak at all; see how he plagued Egypt with ten plagues in the name of the Lord. He performed miracles that destroyed the Egyptians and their livelihood. He made war again Sihon and Og and defeated them. So never buy into that false meekness or false humility of man-made religion. See how Moses was meek and go do likewise. Jesus who is the Son of God is the perfect example of meekness. He did miracles; He rebuked sharply the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the Jewish leaders. He even made a whip of cores and drove out of the temple those who sold doves and over turned the tables of money changers. Religious people will say, this Jesus is not meek, he is not gentle how can he overturn the tables of business people in church? My friend, let your definition of everything be according to the Word of God, not according to man-made religion.

We have said the meekness is submission to God’s will, without murmuring or peevishness; opposed to pride, arrogance and refractoriness. And a murmur is a complaint half suppressed, or uttered in a low, muttering voice. So Let us see if Moses never complained to the Lord. When the Hebrews asked for meat in the wilderness; Moses said unto the LORD, Why have You afflicted Your servant? and why have I not found favour in Your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people upon me? Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, so that You should say unto me, Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father bears the sucking child, unto the land which you swore unto their fathers? Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat. I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. And if You deal thus with me, kill me, I pray You, out of hand, if I have found favour in Your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness (Numbers 11:10-15).

You see it was not just the people who complained. To complain according to the Webster dictionary is to utter expression of grief, of pain, of uneasiness; to lament. The people complained to Moses of their uneasiness; they were tired of eating manna, they wanted some meat for a change. Moses in returned complained to God of his uneasiness and burden of carrying all these people, he even wished that God would kill him! Moses was not used to complain but at least that day he complained to God! Another time that Moses complained that is recorded for us is when he went to pharaoh and pharaoh did not listen to him but burdened more the Hebrews with tasks.

The Hebrews met Moses and Aaron standing in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh. And they said to them, Jehovah look upon you and judge, because you have made our smell to stink in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us. And Moses returned to Jehovah, and said, Lord, why have You treated this people ill? Why then have you sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people. Neither have You delivered Your people at all (Exodus 5:20-23). So you see the people complained about Moses because of what they were going through and Moses in turn complained to God about sending Him in the first place to Pharaoh.

Moses was transparent and honest with us to at least give us in writing two instances when he complained to the Lord and even against the Lord. So meekness does not happen overnight! God works with our heart so that we will obey Him willingly and we will not see Him and His command as burdens. But as Moses matured in faith, he understood and believed that God is not his problem but the devil in Pharaoh is. So he complained less and less to God but went over and over to see pharaoh and the devil in him to command him to let the people of God go! That is what will happen in your life as you read and believe the perfect redemption plan of God and its application.

You will less and less complain to God, or talk about your mountain to God; instead you will speak to your mountain and your pharaoh about God and command your mountain to be removed and cast into the sea and your pharaoh to let the people of God go free (Mark 11:22-24). Why is that, because you will understand and believe that God is with you and with your mouth, and you are as God to your mountain and to the pharaohs of your life (Exodus 3:11, Exodus 4:12). So you will command the works of God’s hand to obey you, and they will do so (Isaiah 45:11, Psalm 8, Genesis 1:26)!

I, Gery, used to complain a lot in my personal prayer because of the burdens of the people God entrusted me with. And when I was angry with God i would even used irreverent words toward God in my prayer. God who sees in secret exposed my irreverence to Nell Malanda the prophet of the Lord and to Louise the prophetess of the Lord; they corrected me and I accepted to repent with tears in my heart. I learned to cast all my care upon Jesus, including the care of the ministry upon Jesus because He cares for us (1Peters 5:7).

My prayers have become more of thanksgiving and praise for I have come to realize that unless Jehovah builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless Jehovah keeps the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:1-2). I have learned to enter the rest of Jesus and stop worrying, He will build His church, He will watch over my disciples and protect them. This does not mean that I have stopped praying or fasting; I still do and will always do; but some of my prayers, night vigils and fasting were based in fear; I thought I was the one building the church or the one watching over their soul! It is Jesus building His church through me and watching over their souls through me. He said: I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18).

It used to be, when someone called me with a distressing situation on Monday, I would start Esther’s fast of three days and three nights and I will do a night vigil. Then on Wednesday someone else would call me with another distressing situation and I would continue for another two days and two nights without food but just drinking water. And then someone would call me on Friday with another life threatening situation and I am too weak so I only fast during the day until Sunday. The devil made sure he troubled the people to get to me. I cried out to God that I could not do that anymore! Then the Lord taught me to trust him and learn to enter His rest. I have already my disciplined life of prayer, fasting and studying of the Holy Scriptures; now when the devil distresses a person close to Me I do not worry I trust God and thank Him for the deliverance He will provide.

Unless the Lord specifically tells me to add a special fast or vigil for that distressing situation; I just include it in my normal fasts and prayer already scheduled. The devil and his oppressions in the life of the people no longer dictate my prayer life and fasting life but God does. I have come to realize that I am not the one building the Church but Jesus is doing so through me and the people; He does a far better job than I do. I am not the one watching over the church and the souls of those millions of people; He does it all through me and the people He has gave sent my way to be co-labourers in His vineyard. Behold, He is the one who keeps Israel, He does not sleep nor slumber (Psalm 121:4). He wants to give me sleep; for I am his beloved. Are there days He will call me to watch with Him at night? The answer is yes! But most of the time He wants me to enjoy a sweet sleep and trust me that He does a better job of watching over us. Therefore do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

God said to Jeremiah: you shall mention the burden of the Lord no more. For every man’s word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the Words of the living God, of Jehovah of Hosts our God. So you shall say to the prophet, What has Jehovah answered you? And what has Jehovah spoken? But since you say, The burden of the Lord; therefore thus says the Lord, Because you say this word; the burden of Lord; and I have sent to you saying, You shall not say, The burden of The Lord (Jeremiah 23:36-38).

John tells us: in fact this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome or grievous (1John 5:3). God does not want us to see Him and His commands as burdens. He wants us to get to the point where we enjoy serving Him. Soul winning is not a burden, casting out devils is not a burden, raising the dead is not a burden, sharing the gospel is not a burden, making disciples is not a burden. If you still see those commands of the Lord as burdens or burdensome and they grieve you; then you have not yet been perfect in love and have not yet entered the rest of Christ. It is a joy and a privilege to be about our Father’s business to be co-labourers with Jesus Christ in the vineyard of our Father!

Jesus tells us a parable of two sons of the same Father, saying: what do you think? A man had two sons; and he came to the first and said, Son, go work in my vineyard today. He answered and said, I will not. But afterwards he repented and went. And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir; and did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you that the tax-collectors and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And when you had seen it, you did not repent afterwards so that you might believe him (Matthew 21:28-32).

Many of us felt in the past that we were no worthy to come into the kingdom of God let alone to be greatly used of God to deliver other people from the power of darkness and translate them into the kingdom of the Son of His love. Such were tax collectors, sinners, murderers like Moses and Paul who used to be Saul of Tarsus, adulterers like David and fornicators like Gery. In the beginning we objected about even coming into the kingdom and let alone working in the Lord’s vineyard side by side with the Lord Jesus. But we repented of our sins and became born again, and we renewed our mind to believe the perfect redemption plan of God and went to work in the vineyard. My prayer is that you and I will not be like the second son who though he said yes to go work in the vineyard; but he never reported for duty! He had a lying spirit! I have met some children of God, well versed in scriptures like the Pharisees, scribes and Jewish religious leaders of the days of Jesus; yet have a lying spirit like the second son of the Father. Although they give you their word that they will come work with you in the vineyard; they will never turned up.

3-9 Self-control

Self-control is the ability of controlling his action and not act disorderly or inappropriately in a situation. For instance when having a conversation with someone and the person provokes us, or hurts our feelings: we do not lose it and start fighting physically, quarrelling, and insulting the person. Or when we are in front of the opposite sex we do not have lustful thoughts and open our mouth to say obscene things, or act inappropriately towards that person.

Paul tells us: I say therefore to the unmarried and the widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I. But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn (1Corinthians 7:8-9). But if the person is only having lustful thoughts and wants to fornicate, he is of the devil, it is not the kind of love of God, lust is of the devil. Paul tells us that in the last days men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good, traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these (2Timothy 3:2-5).

Peter tells us some of the things we need to add to our Christian walk if we want to never fall. God has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence, filling out your faith with virtue, and with virtue, knowledge; and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control, patience, and with patience, godliness, and with godliness, brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness, love. For if these things are in you and abound, they make you to be neither idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2Peter 1:4-8). So have the fruit of the spirit in your life and let people around you see the different aspects of it.

Brothers and sisters remember me in your prayers as I remember you in my prayers. I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in each one of us (Galatians 4:19). Because I know that the spirit is willing to make us grow into the measure of the full stature of Christ; but the flesh is weak (Ephesians 4:13-15, Matthew 26:42). Therefore I travail in prayer, so that God will pour upon each one of us the Spirit of grace and prayer so that we will be willing and empowered to grow into Christ (Zechariah 12:10). Now unto God who is able to keep each one of us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen (Jude 1:24-25).
